While driving home from work, I heard a knock in my engine. I took the car to get oil change thinking it was running a bit low. The garage changed the oil and stated it was 2 quarts low. I've never had a problem with oil consumption, but now there was excessive oil consumption. When I started the car the next morning there was a loud clicking noise coming from the engine. I took it back to the garage and they stated it was the timing belt. I had it immediately fixed, but feel it is a problem that will keep occurring as with the 2010 - 2014 model years. What happened to putting out a quality product?

Terrain SLE 2.4L 4 cyl

Bought the car new, problem started immediately. Loud tapping noise from front drivers side of engine, continues until completely warmed up. Happens when car is parked overnight and temp is below 50 degrees. Car is used for short trips (4k mi in 7 months). Took car to dealership for oil chg and tire rotation and told them about problem. They said they would research it with gmc ?? Stopped making the noise for 2 weeks after the oil change and 40 mile trip on interstate to dealership. Now has started again. Has to be cooler temp in the morning when first started.
