this is a crummy car and Honda is a crummy company. This was my 3rd ACCORD. after checking into things, realized that the 02 V6 has numerous transmission problems, which were confirmed when I called Honda. However, they said "tough luck" (in nicer words) since it was out of warranty. So at around 75000 miles, had to put in a rebuilt transmission, 12k 12 month warranty, which of course failed at 20,000miles more. So by 96,000 miles, had been through 2 transmissions and didn't have the money or energy to fix again so car has been sitting for 2 years in driveway. Absolutely astounded that Honda did no recalls or at least will pay for parts. They know this is a faulty model. I understand if there are just a few problems being reported, but there are numerous. This is a safety issue. I'm afraid to fix transmission again and give car to my 16 year old, because he won't know what to do if transmission starts to hinder the car's driving. Honda will never sell me another car and I've told everyone how they were unwilling to do anything. It's really sad. My newest car is a Buick Lacrosse with a great factory warranty. They cover their transmission for 100,000 miles. BUY AMERICAN.

As reported by many others, transmission failed around 110,000. All the regular maintenance performed, including timing belt and transmission fluid. Cost $3000 no warranty coverage. Battery cable also died. I spent nearly $5000 this year for all the repairs and maintenance. Definitely regretting to own this car now.

I am updating what I said last week when my transmission went out and I had car at dealer to be repaired on 1/12/12.
Well, I was surprised that I did get the car back the very next day. I hope what I am writing here posts again, bc I was not sure how to update what happened. The service adviser called on friday and said that the car was ready. He said Honda was going to help with the costs. I paid 1815 instead of over 3,000. I have to follow-up again on some details though. I signed something to pick up my car and asked for a copy, but the copy I got was just the normal printout of what was done. Transmission and torque converter and something about cleaning out or washing out..don't remember the exact wording there....the "transmission lines? coils? I would have to look at the copy to see what it said on it. I have to verify that was all I signed for bc it was only a few lines in writing. I signed and just asked to have a copy of what I signed to read later. Also there was nothing written about the 3 year warranty the rebuilt transmission would have. I called today and service advisor said it was "in their computer."
So I have to follow-up on a couple things here. Have to be sure I got a copy of whatever I signed to get car out. Also have to see about getting in writing there is a warranty. It helps me a lot, but to be honest I will be still badly hurt financially to have to pick up the 1815.
I was very happy to get the car the next day instead of bumming rides from Thurs til Mon or Tues. Very glad I did get some help, and that the service adviser said he talked to his supervision and they got this done. I just have to be sure I only signed to pick it up and find out what I signed if it was for more than just that. Still feel like Honda should have covered the whole cost since I maintained the car with them so well.

My Honda has been taken care of by a trusted Honda repair shop for 6 years. I called Roswell Honda dealer in Georgia and spoke to them about the issue. They proceeded to tell me that it didn't really matter what the problem was if I hadn't taken it to them for maintenance. They weren't helpful and seemed to accuse me of not taking care of my car, just because I hadn't taken it to them.
I do not think a Honda should have a faulty transmission after only 120K miles, and feel as if with reported issues from customers about transmission failure I should get some sort of customer service from Honda.

Disappointed after my family's loyalty to honda, that they won't recall this problem with the transmission. quoted me a repair at 3,796.00.. when the car is not even worth that much. I don't know what to do, I can't afford this. It's really making me depressed, I thought I was making a good decision when I purchased this car two years ago. I wish I had found this website before i bought the car for 7,000.
Please people- if you can help it- DO NOT BUY THIS CAR.... or any honda for that matter. They can't take responsibility.

My Accord transmission died at 71,000 miles. I have several complaints documented while the car was still under warranty. The dealer ( Madison Honda, NJ ) told me back then that there was nothing wrong with the car. I could kick myself for not putting up more of a stink back then. So I put up with the drag and the occasional knock until the car just died.(Yes, I do see how stupid I must look to anyone reading this). Corporate is willing to help me with some of the cost of a re-built, but I feel that this was an inherent problem from the beginning and should have been corrected then. Also, I was told by Corporate that if there had been a problem with the transmission while the car was new, it would have died before now. I see from reading other postings that this isn't true. I also called Lee Myles, Aamco and an independent trans specialist . They all said that, yes, the car could have waited until now to crap out. I am thinking of fixing it at a place other than the Honda dealer and then suing in Small Claims.

June 24, 2010 part #652C 72147-S84-A03 description-TRANSMITT, was put on. I was charged $92.51 but credited back so no charge. 09/11/10, car still leaking oil Russ Darrow ordered a part, TRANS SHIFT LINKAGE SEAL LEAKS. SOP. 09/18/10 Russ Darrow installed a new shift link seal and stated no leaks at this time and charged me $188.73 for repairs. 11/01/10 took car back still leaking oil. Russ Darrow checked seal that was installed not leaking. Cleaned area and test drove possible leak from the case. If leak persists may need a trans? 11/11/10 took car back still leaking oil. Now I was being told the car needs a new transmission $3400+TX. LEAKING AT LF AXLE AND TORQUE CONVERTER SEAL. I went to the Manager Gregg Lecher on 11/12/10 and picked up copies of prior invoices I asked him to make for me. Then I asked for my $188.73 refund since the part I paid for was not the problem. He ignored all the voice mail messages I left him. Gregg sent me an email on 08/11/11 thanking me for allowing Russ Darrow to service my car for an oil change. I replied asking about my refund of $188.83 again I got no straight answer from him except he couldn't find any oil problems associated with that part. I responded informing him I have invoices that states otherwise. He responded by offering a credit of $188.73 towards a new transmission. I responded to him by thanking him for finally taking the time to respond to my concern. Yes transmission oil has to be put into the car often to keep it running. What I don't understand is why does the 2002 Honda Accord NOT have the simple shift D for DRIVE. Why does it have only shift 3 and shift 4. The sales person said to drive the car in shift 4. Should it have been driven in shift 3 perhaps? Not sure what or why this Honda's were made the way it was but I will never buy another car unless the D (drive) appears on the gear shift box.

I bought the car new, kept is services as per the manual, on last service, they recommended that I change my transmission fluid. Car did not shift properly afterwards (Honda dealership service). I brought it to the mechanics attention and was told to bring it back in for checking. I did this and left the car for 2 days, they told me they did not detect any irregularity but within a month, the transmission failed. Called Honda US and they said sorry, not their problem due to age of car. I spent years babying this car, keeping it like new, garaging it, servicing it with the dealership, etc. only to have a major part fail without warning. I will now seek another manufacturer to buy my next car and want to warn others that Hondas talk a big talk, but beware of their low quality major parts and systems.

2002 Honda Accord 3.0L V6, automatic transmission, 135,700 miles
This 2002 Accord was my 3rd Honda. Had an 88 Civic (manual) - never had a problem.
Had a 2000 Accord. That tranny failed at 84,000 miles and was covered under extended
warranty. When the 2002 Accord tranny failed last week, I called the dealer who told me
$3500 plus tax for a remanufactured tranny. Offered no discounts. Said at 135,000 miles, what do I expect and to try American Honda. Well, I certainly had to pay more for a Honda because of their reputation and I certainly did not think I was buying a car that would have a major component failure. I could have bought any car and saved enough on the purchase price to pay for a new transmission. Called American Honda to tell them about another one of their now well-known transmission failure problems and see if loyalty to Honda counted for anything. Had read that some folks did get American Honda to pay for a remanufactured transmission and the customer pay for the labor. The American Honda rep said that American Honda would not help in any way even though I had bought Hondas for the last 23 years. That's what loyalty to Honda gets you - a $2,750 bill for a transmission rebuild and a corporation and dealership that turns their back on you. The transmission shop that did my work says that they see a steady stream of Hondas. I had to wait for them to finish rebuilding a 2005 Odyssey to start on mine. To anyone that has a Honda - you should seriously think about trading it in on a reliable vehicle or start saving for your transmission rebuild. Its not a question of if it will happen, because it will. Its just a matter of time. Honda does not stand behind its product.

I love Honda, I want to keep buying Hondas, but here is where the waste of adverting and marketing meets the road. Everyone spends way too much money getting new customers and not trying to keep the loyal ones they have. A major problem that was clearly the fault of design and manufacturing. I have and have had Hondas that have gone 260,000 + miles with now problems, just regular recommended maintenance. That is why we/I ( I have been responsible for my whole family buying Hondas about two dozen and counting) buy Hondas, and not an American or other makers vehicles. If they try to dodge to ball like all the American car companies, then all of it customers will do the same, change loyalties. Be Japanese and do the right thing and keep happy and loyal customers.

UPDATE 1st transmission replaced at 61,167 under "certified warranty" 2002 Accord EX-V6. 10/1/10 transmission went bad again. This time my wife had to drive on a side walk, just missing hitting neighbors dog and owner. The sidewalk was the wifes idea. But hitting the car pulling out of the driveway in front of her seemed a worse idea. When she applied the brake to the accord, it reved up and lurched forward hard and quickley going on sidewalk was best option for not hitting other vehicle. As she hit curb of side walk the car went into neutral even though the car gear shifter was in D4. Went through entire car electronics checked all. Had good, registered, shop take a look and they said transmission no good. WHAT A SHOCK. lol Have enough money to get it to Friendly Honda this weekend (170.00bucks) Will keep updated about what Honda says and how much they are/arenot paying.

The car did not have very high miles but the warranty has expired. This problem has been around for awhile, everytime I took it to the dealership for tune up and oil change, they never tell me the transmission has problems. All they keep saying is that I have a really good car, there is nothing to worry about. The problem finally become un-bearable, I have the dealer checked again. This time they say it's the transmission failure, and need to be replaced. I called Honda to complain, and their answer is due to the mileage and age of the car, they cannot help fixing it, even though it's a known problem! Honda has very high repair costs: over $4000.

So I found that this is a common problem on this model of Honda. Although the car was no longer under warranty, the dealer agreed to pay a portion of the costs for the parts because of it being a common issue. I guess they didn't want to go all the way and admit any fault, but being a broke student at the time with no other options, I has happy to go with that lol! I've spoken to a few others I've run into with the same model and they've mentioned having the same issue. Otherwise, a very reliable car. I guess this was fixed in later models.

When my car started having this problem I couldn't believe it. The first Honda accord I had never had an issues and lasted over 200,000 miles. I only have 96,000 miles and have had the problem about 6 months now. The first time it did it I thought I got rear-ended by another car. I looked up to see no one behind me. The jump, or fling into gear is so bad I feel like we do get whiplash. The other day as I pulled out to major street the car wouldn't go! As I pushed harder on the gas it just revved higher, but wouldn't go. This is a major safety concern. We could have been rear ended or killed! The 2002 should be recalled. I can't believe Honda is ignoring the problem. I will never again purchase a Honda accord.

My car just decided to STOP on the interstate. No warning, no prior problems, Just Stop. I have been able to drive the car around the yard and then it will just stop again and not go anywhere. I would have thought that a HONDA would not have transmission problems with less than 100,000 or even more miles on it. I would have expected to at least have some kind of problems, such as the transmission slipping . How can a car just stop without warning. Car has been cared for, fluids changed on regular basis all of the right things.
Update from Nov 17, 2010: I did contact American Honda and I was given an option that they could pay for the parts and I could pay for the labor. With the car having 96,000 miles I really did not want to put that much money into labor. With it being the end of the year and the 2011's coming out Honda had some decent deals on the 2010. I traded the troubled 2002 for a brand new 2010. I now have a car with 300 miles, lifetime warranty on the engine-transmisssion..etc - not just a certain mile limit or certain year limit BUT the car's lifetime warranty on the main get up go of the car. Then I have 100,000 mile warranty bumper to bumper. I loved my Honda and I have confidence that with a lifetime warranty on transmission - engine I should enjoy my car for years to come!!

I am a Naval Officer, Single Parent, Faithful Tax Payer, and a Foster Mom. I have a complaint about my Honda Accord Automobile (2002 EX V6 Engine) of which I am the original owner, and the service I received from American Honda and Hoehn Honda of Carlsbad CA.
Up until this point, I have not had many issues with my Honda. My Honda Accord 2002 was a wonderful car, my very first NEW CAR, which I was the ORIGINAL OWNER, FINANCED, and so on. I drove this car off the lot without even 1 mile on the dash, and the Dealership told me by law they had to put at least 1 mile on the dash, in order to sell the car, and they allowed me to put that 1 mile on the dash. I bought this car with the intentions of keeping well past 400k miles, and possibly passing it onto my son as his first car, which would have given me the security that I was passing him something reliable, and something I know he would have little to no major out-of-pocket expenses for, and clearly at the time that was the reputation that Honda's had... NOW, I would not give this car to anyone, knowing what I know.
Before all of this occurred, I was basically driving my Honda to and from work, to and from my kids' school, and in and around daily travels, with exception to occasional family outings. I recently paid this car off, and since then, I have paid for all kinds of unforeseen expenses, and enough is enough.
My first experience with my 2002 Honda Accord's transmission occurred when I was driving at 35 MPH and the car bucked in ongoing traffic and completely stalled. I was amazed because my car had not done this before, and it was terrifying considering I had my kids and 2 of their friends in the car, and it did a number on our necks.
Now, my 2002 Honda Accord begins to slip every time I accelerate from a traffic light, stop sign, and so on. Honda’s transmission started slipping out of gear, jerking, and while driving at a speed of 45-60 MPH, would start to increase speed on its own then just lose speed, and would make a rattling sound while losing speed and once past that gear would experience problems leveling out. Also, when I tried to put it in reverse, the car does not move, and I have to keep changing gears to get the car to go. When I turn it off and then on again, it started to drive normally, but I have to keep doing this, and I notice it is eating away at my gas.
A few weeks later, the car did the same thing but worse now, I notice the RPMs go really high when I go forward, and the car gives a hard buck or jerk and often times the car goes nowhere. The car bucks whenever its ready, without warning.
It wasn't until I did a Google Search for transmission problems on a 2002 Honda Accord (http://www.carcomplaints.com/Honda/Accord/2002/transmission/transmission_slipping_and_jerking.shtml), did I realize my issues with this problem were not isolated, I was not alone in this issue, and to no surprise, the more I search on this issue, the more I find. I found many other Honda Accord Owners with a 2002 are having the same identical issue, and there are many other websites and blogs about people having the same issues as well.
I called Honda Customer Service at (800) 999-1009 and asked for their "goodwill repair", and thought that HONDA would surely stand behind their product, and surely with all the many complaints about the same issue that Honda would recognizes this and will help to fix this problem. I WAS DEAD WRONG... 100% AND THEN SOME!! Not only have they not made a recall, which I am sure is well needed due to the many complaints, in order to repair this problem, but they almost laughed when I called them. I had a Representative tell me that it is not a safety related concern, and when I requested a number to higher authorities, I was told the buck stops there. I told the Representative all that had occurred, and that I beg to differ, my transmission failed (three to four) while on the California 5 Freeway, going with the flow of traffic, and this became a safety concern because my Honda went from going about 65 MPH to 25-35 MPH in the fast lane, I was terrified and this was definitely a concern because I could have been KILLED!!!! I was rammed from the rear, and had to pull to the left lane of this busy freeway, after being almost forced off the road by a Diesel Truck because my car was not shifting into gear.
I immediately went to my local Dealership (Hoehn Honda 5454 Pasea Del Norte, Carlsbad CA 92008 Ph:760-438-1818), had my vehicle inspected, and was told by Johnny Ramirez (Service Advisor) that the transmission needed to be fully replaced, and handed a bill for $3,740 (Parts & Labor with $2425.57 being just for parts alone, and the remainder for labor) to replace the transmission or else to trade-in for new Honda (which I'm not at all interested in doing) and I could not replace the transmission at this time, due to the financial hardship I am experiencing with the loss of my home. I immediately started crying, and the Service Representative told me to call Honda and see if there was any help they could provide but, when I called, as I explained, I was told that this was not their issue because I have no warranty on the car currently.
I left devastated and the car jerked all the way home. I returned, after I gathered my thoughts, and I requested that the Dealer do a "goodwill repair" but they told me call American Honda’s 800#, I called again from their lobby, and until now, nothing.
I bought this car because of the Honda name brand, for its reliability, and because it was said to be built to last, and all I have gotten is a car that looks pretty on the outside and is sick on the inside, and the Dealer/Doctor handing me a bill and telling me to pay or let the car die. I feel as a consumer, CHEATED! Now, I have 5 kids that I take backwards and forwards to school in the mornings and in the afternoons, and I commute daily about 50 miles to and from work, and I have been degraded to putting my kids on the city bus and taking the train to work because of the amount of money I am told by the dealer that it will take to correct my car’s transmission. I have kids that need to get to school, a job that affords me the ability to Serve & Protect my Country, and no way to get either to the assigned destination because, I do not have reliable transportation, thanks to Honda.
I am terrified to put my kids into this car with the transmission jerking really bad like I'm slamming the brakes on occasion, and the clear fact that Honda customer service didn't seem empathetic in offering a solution to help makes me outraged.
Just like many, I believed in Honda for their reliability, but no more; it's a manufacturing defect and this has to be recalled. Honda needs to be held accountable, step up and take responsibility for their design flaw, just as other car manufacturers have had to do in the past. If one person was claiming an issue, o.k. but, you have a large number of people claiming the same mechanical issue, and Honda not stepping up to offer any aid to the problem. I want justice because; I paid for a car that I can no longer use, which is clearly a manufacturer's issue. Currently there is no pending or ongoing recall for the transmission defect, because it is not a safety issue (according to the NHTSA). I can be reached using the "send comment" link below.

I went to Honda when a spring inside the transmission broke. They wouldn't even check out my transmission. They gave an excuse of a guy who had the same problem with a loose shifter and that it was easier to do nothing about it. The next day the transmission was slipping and the engine revving bad. They still did nothing. I took it to a local transmission shop where it was rebuilt to a cost of $2,500. The pieces of the spring had gotten into the gears and they had to be replaced as well. I was without my car for 2 weeks and when I contacted Honda they did nothing about this. My niece has the same year, same car with a failed transmission as well. This is a Honda defect.

Transmission hesitates when stopped, jerks into gear hard. Talk to Local dealerships- no help on repair cost -but would be glad to repair @ my expense.
Called American Honda - too many miles for then to offer any assistance even under their Goodwill program.

I purchased my Honda Accord believing that Honda produced a quality vehicle and based on the reputation that I could expect a good 200,000 or 300,000 miles out of it. In fact, when the car turned 100,000 miles I jokingly posted a picture of the odometer on my Facebook account with the note "My Accord just turned 100,000 miles. Time for a new car or just breaking it in?" The comments I received from friends, and fellow Honda owners, unanimously said "Just breaking it in", which is what I believed.
Given my research of the internet and the apparent ongoing problems with 2002 Honda Accord transmissions, and the fact that I have maintained this automobile in accordance with all of the manufacturer's guidelines and specifications, my transmission should not have failed at 102,000 miles. Consequently, I feel that I should incur no cost in correcting what appears to be a manufacturing problem.

This transmission was replaced approx Dec08. Recently the car started jolting and locking up. Would not move. Distinct burning smell coming from car. Have added a transmission cooler and changed out transmission fluid. Local mechanic suspects possible torque converter problem. Continual problems with this car with zero help from Honda.

Ive purchased both of my honda's because their reputation used to mean something. However, after all the problems and defects that I've had with me 2002 accord I can honestly say I will NEVER in my life buy another Honda, or recommend Honda to my friends and family.
My car currently only has 79,000 miles on it. Not bad for being 8 years old. Last year, I had to replace the entire transmission $3000. I've need 4 alignments done in the last 2 years. my seat belts had to be replaced. my motor mounts were replaced. break disks replaced. air conditioning system had to be fixed. pollen filters replaced. entire front axle is broken and needs to be replaced ($2000), ball joints need to be replaced. wheel baring hub needs to be replaced.
This car is been the worse car I've ever owned in my entire life. I contacted Honda Customer service but was told there was nothing they can do. My Chevy truck from the same year has never had a problem... now i know..I'm buying American.

Just adding to the list of complaints - Bought from CarMax, as my transmission on another car had died, I chose Honda as I've had 2 in the past that were great. 2 months into owning it, the transmission died as well. Didn't buy their extended warranty - Had it replaced for $3900. Sigh.

500 miles after my extended warranty I purchased along with the car ran out, I started having transmission problems. I have returned to the dealer on 3 occasions trying to get a good faith repair and all 3 times they told me that my vin number did not qualify for the repair. My neighbor has the same exact car I do and the dealer did a good faith repair for her. All I want is my car fixed by the dealer at their expense. I am a single mother of 3 who broke my back, had 8 surgeries, and still do not have a vehicle that I can drive. I have to depend on others and I live out in the country so it is inconvenient for others to help me.
Please help me get my car fixed, if I pay for it it will cost $3,500.00.

The car overall is great. It has everything that you want if you like coupe style. The only thing is that the transmissions problems that occur are costly. I personally kept my car matienced on regular schdule and have receipts for proof, it dont matter. This car is prone for this. Bad Thing!!!!!! Plus when you are driving on the road and all the sudden the engine light comes on and you see the little green light that represents what gear your car is in that is next to your spedometer blinking ongoing( Park, Reverse, Drive, D3, etc.) it's like OMG what the hell am I gonna do? It's not a good feeling.

I took the vehicle to Honda to adjust the brakes they called me back, saying you have a transmission problem. They stated it was minor, upon picking up the vehicle. I drove150 feet it stalled, I nursed it back to the dealership service entrance. They checked the vehicle and stated the computer had failed and after replacing it, they also informed me the transmission also had failed they believe the transmission electronics damaged the cars computer. Honda of North America was contacted and they paid for part of the repairs.

ive had my honda for almost 5 years now and just now when i go 2 get it inspected i have this problem. transmission is gone been flushed 3 times only 135k on it now and had only 50k when i bought it i feel like since there is so many complaints from people with a honda that honda dealership should fix the problem especially when they kept makin these models knowing there was a big tranny problem. I feel its very f*cked up u put so much money into a good car thats supposed to last atleast 200k and tranny gone at 135k dont make any since and honda should be responsible for it not the owner. Now that its paid for i have to go through this sh*t i should be saving 300$a month now tranny gone cant save any kind of money there for honda should and will fix the problem abd i will defnately be letting everyone that i know with a honda or plans on getting one not to get it its a waste of money. i spent about 18,000 on mine afetr interest now its like it all went down the drain now i have to deal with this problem. honda shouldnt brag on there vehicles if they have so many mechanical problems hell they mine as well stop making them. also vehicle inspection due cant take care of that casue of engine light and it will not go off until tranny is fixed.

I have bought Honda's for years. My transmission failed at 116,000. This may be acceptable for a Chrysler but I would never expect this from Honda. Of course it was out of warranty and I had to pay the full $2500.00. The replacement was a Honda factory reconditioned transmission with a 3yr/36000 mile warranty. Guess what, it completely failed 50,000 miles later. Typical Honda response was sorry it's out of warranty. The dealer, Victory Honda of Monroe, MI had the nerve to tell me I should have changed the oil at 30,000 miles (manual says 90,000). My families combined purchased Honda vehicles was 9. Our future Honda buys will be ZERO!!!.

Wow, purchase a Honda for reliability....what a joke. Transmission failed on a 2002 Accord with 92,000 miles. I expected much more from Honda. I will call to see if they will consider any compensation, but from reading the other coments I am not sure I will have much luck. My husband and I have been loyal Honda customers and Honda is the only make car we have driven. We have had a total of 5 Hondas. It looks like we will have to scrap this car. I WILL NOT EVER BUY ANOTHER HONDA.

I estimated the date and mileage of our first transmission failure. Husband was out of town so the repairs were not done locally. We were greatly inconvienced. It was also a hassle ( with that dealership) to honor our extended warrenty. About a year and a half later the refurbished transmission thankfully under warrenty had to be replaced. I worry that it will eventually happen to our 2001 that we purchased before this happened to our 2002.
If we had known of such existing issues that Honda has had for years we would not have purchased a Honda. Way to go Consumer Reports. I am totally against Honda for any future purchase.

it will take 2700+tax to fix it. will never buy an Honda again...........will sell this junk to some other dealer and buy another brand bit not a Honda....

This car was serviced at each book interval at the dealer where the car was purchased. For about 3 days while driving there was a slight hesitation, racing of the engine and then the transmission would engage. I checked the fluids and all checked out in okay levels. I took the car in to have it checked out and got a call the same day saying a whole new [rebuilt] transmission was necessary. No service plan help would help cover the loss. I do not understand how at less than 70K miles you total a transmission.
Update from May 16, 2010: The date of the Honda Accord V6 is model year 2002 NOT 2005. Year mistake was mine.

So I hear Honda is a great vehicle! Maybe, but not the 2002 Honda Accord. Check engine lights on, transmission is completely gone. Should not be happening at 147K! I called Honda (nationwide) they said there may have been a recall on the transmission part to not allow it to fall apart but not a recall on the slipping of the transmission! I will never, ever purchase another one! It hydroplanes in the rain, the check engine light does not go off!! What a piece of crap! Save yourself some dough! Do not go Honda!

Accord EX V6
I purchased this vehicle in 2007 from a local dealer who stated they had fixed the transmission, when the car was delivered to me I actually picked it up from the shop so I thought I did my due diligence with known the transmission issues. However, last month I noticed the transmission started leaking significant amounts of fluid, and shortly after it started having problems. When i go from a stop, it hesitates and does not want to move. The engine rev's up, but the car stands still. I am terrified of crossing into traffic, or making any turns as im afraid the car will not move and I will be hit. I do not have the money to replace the transmission. I have purchased 4 Honda's and this will be my last. The newer they are, the less dependable they have become. Poor quality for mass production.
