Accord LX-V6 3.0L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 158,000 miles

It's disturbing how common and predictable failures are with Honda automatic transmissions. It's interesting that Honda continues to be perceived as being a high-value, high-quality brand despite a history of common and expensive repairs going back to the 1990's. You have to question why a high-value, high-quality product only came with a 3-Year/36,000-mile powertrain warranty. Competition from Hyundai finally forced Honda to match Hyundai's 5-Year/60,000-Mile Limited Powertrain Warranty but that hasn't saves thousands of Odyssey, Pilot, Ridgeline, and Accord owners from huge repair bills.

Accord EX 3.0

  • Automatic transmission
  • 56,000 miles

My car began leaking transmission fluid this year and I have been told it will be expensive to fix the seal. I have also been told that my car is too young to have this problem so that cannot be the problem. I have spots in my garage to show that is the problem, but don't want to pay to have it fixed just yet. It is just annoying and I will just continue to add transmission fluid every so often to make sure the levels are good.
