problem #1

I bought my 2009 Honda Accord brand new in January 2009! I am the primary driver and the car has about 52,000 miles at this time. All of a sudden at about 42,000 mi, the 6 CD player stopped working. The radio still works fine. I had the local mechanic who services my car take a look. They said it needed a new sensor but would have to send the CD player out to be repaired. I called HONDA Corp in CA. The rep told me I had to get the problem evaluated and estimated at a DEALER. She said as a matter of "goodwill" they might help with the cost of repair. The dealer wanted $135 p/hr & thought it would take 2 hrs to figure out the problem ($270!) I asked if they would apply this $$ to the repair and they said "no." Called HONDA in CA back and explained to rep. She asked me how many HONDAs I'd owned & told her this was my 2nd. 1st one was almost demolished in an accident and I didn't feel safe in a small car so went to a heavier/bigger car (not HONDA) as I was on the road for business quite often. Again, I was told I needed a written estimate/diagnoses before HONDA would consider any help, if at all! There was no guarantee! I still haven't had it repaired but figured I'd spend the $270 on a new after market CD player. My 300+ CD's sit idle :-(

Has anyone had this issue & what did you do? Thanks.
