Accord EX-L 2.5L 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 42,000 miles

I bought the car certified pre-owned more than two years ago. The back up camera stopped working about a month ago. I saw a black screen when I shifted to reverse. The back up camera was replaced under pre-owned car warranty.

The replacement camera was tilted at an angle from the factory. It was installed correctly. So when I shift to reverse the view is slightly tilted to one side. This is a constant annoyance when I park as the car is always at an angle. I have talked to the dealership multiple times about this issue. They told me this is not enough of a problem for Honda to replace the replacement.

Accord EX-L

  • Automatic transmission

The reverse camera on my Honda Accord intermittently goes out (roughly once a year). Not sure it's even worth replacing (It will cost @ $300.00. Fortunately I still remember how to go in reverse without the benefit of a camera :)

Accord EXL V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 59,800 miles

I bought my 2014 Honda Accord EX-L used with 59,000 miles on it on 2/26/17. Shortly after I purchased it the back up cam started freezing and or clacking out once a week. I would put the car in park, shut it off and restart and it would work, up until last week when it went black for good and hasn't went back. Now all I see are the yellow and orange lines. I'm hearing this is a big issue that new accord owners are having with the back up cam but when I called Honda, they said there is nothing they can do to help. I'm at my wits end, has anyone had any luck?

I got a mechanic to look at my backup camera and he advised to take to the dealer. He stated the camera rarely go out. I took to the dealer on Saturday, April 8, 2017. After waiting 1 1/2 hours I decided to go and ask service about my car. They stated it wasn't the camera, but they needed another 2 hours to pull out the radio and pinpoint the problem. Seems it was the camera not working. The guy said this was rare for the camera to go out, but they just happen to have another one in stock. After waiting 3 1/2 hours and $603 dollars later, my car was finished and I definitely ready to leave. I thought about not fixing because of price, but the car only has 40,000 miles.
