The drivers seat is so uncomfortable its unsafe to drive. I bought the car 2 weeks ago and almost got into a couple of accidents on the highway while I was trying to re-adjust the pillow behind my back. Honda needs to fix the problem.

Just purchased a 2014 Honda Accord in August. I've been driving this car just for a month. I have developed a pain on my lower back due to a very uncomfortable driver seat. I don't know know what I should do. It feels as if people who have this same situation should be refunded their money, or have the car be recalled from Honda, replace the seat that support proper posture and support neck. the seat problem is making me hate Honda.

We've had Honda Accord models: 1998, 2003, 2008, 2010 and 2014. My husband loves them, but the passenger seats kill my back in the 2008, 2010, 2014 models. THIS WILL BE OUR LAST HONDA ACCORD. My husband just left to visit his parents in another province and I could not even consider the drive anymore. The pain in my upper back is unbearable.

Bought this car brand new, have it for 3 weeks now. Just recently develop upper back/lower neck pain around 2nd week. The headrest does tilt too far forward. It seems that if I want to drive with my head up straight, I'll have to tilt the seat back far, which is stressful on my back. This could all be solved if the headrest can just tilt!!!

Accord LX 3.2L

I bought a brand new 2014 ACCORD and after driving a hundred miles in the car I was getting lower back pain, numbness in my pelvis, in addition to leg pain caused by the sciatic nerve. There is no position that I can drive this vehicle without being extremely uncomfortable and in pain. It is so bad I am considering taking a loss on the car after just putting 1,000 miles on it.

I'm to the point that I am going to try going to an auto shop and seeing if they can rebuild the seat. If I have no luck I will have to sell the car. I can't understand how Honda can't see this problem. It's as if the seats were made to punish the driver. They should make captured terrorist drive this car instead of WATERBOARDING.

The seat is terribly uncomfortable. It causes me severe leg pain and neck pain. I am 54 and in excellent shape, recently retired from a career in the Army Reserve. This is my 5th Honda and will be my last. After less than a year of ownership, I am ready to sell this car. Mind you, I typically hold my cars to almost 200,000 miles. Currently I have a Mercedes that I bought with 18,000 miles and now has 215,000 miles. I started driving that car more because I dread getting into my Honda.

The drivers side seat bolster on the right side causes pain in my rib cage area. I can feel the metal frame of the seat just below the ultra stiff cushioning that is in place to cover up the metal frame. There is about 1cm of cushioning between the frame and my rib cage, which makes the drive unbearable after only a few minutes in the car. I had less than 100 miles on the car when I realized this was going to be an issue. Went online and found out that many other people have complained of similar issues with the Accord seat. If it weren't for the seats being uncomfortable the car would be perfect.

I traded in a 03 Toyota Corolla that I loved but it had 117,000 miles on it. I bought a 2014 Civic and took it back two days later because it was SO uncomfortable. They allowed me to lease a 2014 Accord and I did not lose any money but the seats still uncomfortable. My lower back and neck hurt and my foot almost goes to sleep so I am going to buy a pillow today and try that. I cannot believe a nice car like this has such uncomfortable seats. It is sad when you can't get excited about a new car.

2014 HONDA ACCORD EX-L. THIS IS THE MOST UNCOMFORTABLE DRIVER'S SEAT I HAVE EVER BEEN IN. I CANNOT GET COMFORTABLE NO MATTER WHAT ADJUSTMENTS ARE MADE. I'M DEVELOPING EXTREME BACK PAIN AFTER EVERY DRIVE OF 20 MINUTES OR MORE. I DON'T KNOW IF IT'S THE HEADREST BEING TOO FAR FORWARD OR THAT THE SEAT BACKS HAVE NO PADDING OR NOT ENOUGH PADDING ON THE SEAT. THE SHORT TEST DRIVE PRIOR TO PURCHASE WAS NOT LONG ENOUGH TO REALIZE THERE WOULD BE A PROBLEM. . THE MAIN CONSUMER COMPLAINT FOR 2013 AND 2014 MODELS ARE THE SEATS. I have had this car for less than a week. It is a beautiful car and drives great. The only problem is the seats make a 20 mile ride to work miserable. I am a physical therapist and these seats are horribly designed. There is no lumbar support and the seats push up into the thoracic spine. It's like they tried to make an uncomfortable seat. After driving the car less than a week I am already looking at ways to get rid of it.

Riding a distance in the 2014 Honda accord will be impossible. The seats are like sitting

On a board. There should be a recall on the seats. This is my second Accord. Loved the 2006, very comfortable.

Sorry, if Honda doesn't do something about the seats it will be my last Honda.

AFTER RESEARCHING THE 2014 ACCORD EX AGAINST THE COMPETITION, I CHOSE THE HONDA BECAUSE OF THE STYLING AND REVIEWS FROM THE CONSUMERS REPORT MAGAZINE, WHO DIDN'T EVEN MENTION ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE SEATS AND HEAD REST. I'VE OWNED LOTS OF CARS IN MY LIFETIME AND NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM.

I DRIVE 120 MILES EACH DAY TO WORK. THE FIRST DAY I NOTICE LOTS OF DISCOMFORT ON MY NECK, BACK AND BUTT, I TRIED TO ADJUST MY BODY TO THE SEATING BUT NOTHING WORKED. THE NEXT DAY I PURCHASE A NECK PILLOW AND THAT HELPED A LITTLE BIT. THIS IS MY SECOND WEEK DRIVING THE ACCORD TO WORK AND EACH DAY IS GETTING WORST ON MY NECK. I ADVISE HONDA TO RECALL THE ACCORD AND FIX THIS PROBLEM IMMEDIATELY OR YOU'LL LOSE MILLIONS OF LOYAL CUSTOMERS.

I have a new 2014 Honda Accord. The seats are terrible chicken ass seats. I have hypothesized a theory I call the International Date Line Seat Theory. People who live west of the International Date Line are built like chickens; wide hips, narrow ass. People who live east of the International Date Line are built like football players: square hips and ass, or wider ass than hips. Honda designs its Accord seats for chicken asses; wide in front, narrow in the back. We who live east of the International Date Line need football player seats; wide, long and comfortable.

Update from Mar 20, 2015: Honda seats are good for the first 15 minutes. After that your hip bones and back begin to start screaming get me out of here. Honda seats need to fit Americans ... wider, longer, softer.

I just bought a 2014 Honda Accord LX June 6th. The seats are very uncomfortable. My trip to work is 14 miles one way and a very long and the most uncomfortable driving I have ever had with a car. My 1996 accord had better and comfortable seat than my new Honda. After driving this car for a month I am ready to sell it because of the uncomfortable seat. I hope Honda will do a recall and fix this problem. The material and looks cheap, again my 1996 accord had better quality seat and at least easy to clean. I hate to sell it but this has caused me to have neck and shoulder pain. I am very disappointed with Honda. I had my previous car for 18 and a half years and without hesitation I went back and bought another accord.

Hi,

I recently purchased new Honda Accord 2014. (same as 2013 model). I cannot find a comfortable seating position. Previously I had 2006 Civic, where the ration of heights between window edge (where I can rest my elbow) and door arm rest was different. In my Civic I could rest my elbow on the window edge or door arm rest and comfortably steer with one hand. Maybe I'm too picky about ergonomics, and need to get used to it. I'm 6.3 and 205lb.

Let the buyer beware! Although the driver side of the Honda Accord, v6, exl, including the driver's seat provides ample leg room; the passenger seat does not. I realize that everyone has a different body type; tall, short , long legs, short legs, etc. However, the specifications state that the car allows for 42.5" of leg room. This may be true on the driver's side of the car, but this is impossible on the passenger side of the vehicle. The passenger seat will not slide back as far as the driver's seat causing a problem for taller passengers. This may sound minor but it's a major problem when traveling on long trips as a passenger in this car.

In closing, I expect nothing from Honda other than to consider making the modification on future models OR to warn potential buyers before signing the contract and driving off the lot with their brand new 2014 car. For me, my only options are to try to sell or trade the car and take a lost, or just grin and bear it. The irony is, I've always been brand loyal and I still like Hondas, but not the car I purchased.
