problem #2

Accord EXL V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 39,500 miles

My car has intermittent starting problems. The car would click like the battery was dead, but then start right up after a couple of attempts. After viewing the web site I decided to replace the battery in the key fob. This seemed to improve the starting.

After a couple of weeks the problem resurfaced so I took the car to my mechanic who diagnosed the problem as a bad contact in the starter. He was able to bypass the contact and start the starter motor. I had a rebuilt Bosch starter installed which has fixed the problem. Honda has refused to admit that there is an issue. There is a call-action lawsuit against Honda to get reimbursed for damages.

hard start and multiple lights on hot day

My car sometimes experiences hard start, especially on hot days, and then I will get multiple alerts - engine light, check steering light, traction light, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, and tire pressure low light on. I checked the internet and multiple complaints have been posted with similar issue and symptoms.

Lights seem to turn off when it is cooler

Update from Apr 24, 2020: I replaced the battery last year, but I am now facing the same problem again. The problem seems to be somewhere else in the car's electrical system.
