LED’s should be as easy to replace as a regular bulb. I can change my headlights to LED or change to HID. Having a sealed light with replacement bulbs at $5 is ridiculous! It’s just a sneaky way to make money! Honda should recall AND change vendors. This problem is crazy easy to fix. Just make the LED housing can take a replacement bulb. Replace the original with a user friendly model!

This car is brand new and most LED lights are life time warranty. Therefore, these lights should not be going out as quickly as they did. I see most 2016 Hondas with at least one of the lights outs like mine. Honda does not want to admit it but this is a defect with there car and the customer should not have to pay for it. One will go out why your car is under warranty up to 36,000 miles and it will likely happen almost at 36,000 and then the other goes out months later when the car is no longer under warranty which means we will have to pay out of pocket for repair. This is not fair to the customer and I will not be buying my third Honda accord because of these issues. Honda Corporation does not accept responsibility for issues with their vehicles.

The daytime running light portion of the passenger-side headlight failed for no apparent reason after only 1.5 years/23,000 miles. This is a HUGE problem for me. Out of warranty, this will be a $1500 repair.

I have now had TWO FAILURES in two years. This adds $1500/year to the cost of ownership of this vehicle.

I have a 2016 Accord Sport. Half of the daytime running LED light bar has been out. I didn't notice it until my brother pointed it out. I wanted to report the problem, so others can be aware as well. I contacted Honda via chat and they recommended I contact my dealership. My warranty ran out at 36k, but am hoping that this will be covered under a manufacturer defect as so many others have this issue.

Much like everyone else on this site, my driver side LED strip is partially out. I called the Honda dealer today and was able to get an appointment with no problem to replace under the standard warranty. My worry is that once my car is out of warranty and the passenger side strip goes out I will then have to pay out of pocket for something that was defective from the beginning. I hope that everyone who is having this issue reports it and maybe that will get Honda's attention to do something about it.

Own a pre-owned 2016 accord touring. Like all above, half of my DRL light on the passenger side went out at 15000 miles. It was all covered by standard warranty. Was told that they redesigned the light, but that they wouldn't replace the driver's side since there was no current issues. Spent 1.5 hours at dealership as they have to remove front bumper to replace headlight. Definitely a hassle!!

Also, had a supposedly faulty battery 2 months ago that required complete replacement under warranty. Entire panel looked like it was having a seizure when I tried to start the car up.

I have a 2016 Honda Accord Sport that I bought brand new. It has only clocked 22,400 miles. A friend had noticed that the driver side LED Daytime Running Light was only half-lit. I took it to my Honda dealer and it was immediately noticeable that they were familiar with the problem and immediately said it was covered under my warranty. They have to order an entire headlight unit (not just the LED strip portion). It's not a big problem for me, but it is rather an annoyance. I just hope it doesn't continuously happen with that light or the other one. This is the first Honda I've ever owned - definitely have not been deterred. I still stand behind Honda because I love my vehicle!

I only had my 2016 Accord Touring for only a 1yr 1/2 and my driver side front headlight DRL went bad with only 24,000 miles on the car, Took my car in to a honda dealer and the tech told me that there doing a least 3 a week, I Contacted American Honda and asked them can they just replace both headlight sense the right side might go bad too because I read in forums that customer goes into the dealer get the defect headlight replaced but end up making a second trip to the dealer because the other headlight went bad it's a big inconvenience, Wish that Honda just replace both at the same time so you don't make the customer come back but American Honda said no because dealers won't warranty a functional headlight because the dealer won't get paid for the warranty item they sent to Honda, But if you pass the 3yrs 36,000 miles your ass out Honda Accord Touring owners your going to fork over $1300 for each headlight that's $2,600 for both and that does not include labor either, I think Honda needs to do a recall for the 2016-17 model year car and replace everyone headlights, Honda should of tested the headlight before putting that type of DRL strip in the headlight, I had a 2013 Accord with LED DRL 3yrs later still as bright like the day i bought it but sense Honda went with the Strip style I think it was a bad idea and Honda should of went with single led bulbs instead like the 2013-2015 model year they last longer, This is going to be my last Honda I ever going to purchase, I've been a Honda owner sense 2007, I own a 2007 Honda Civic, 2013 Accord and currently 2016 Accord but now i'm looking into buying other car and trading this car in I won't be buying other Honda ever again, Sorry Honda you just lost other customer

Accord EX-L V6

Just noticed yesterday that the HALF of the running light on my drivers' side [the one facing traffic] has burnt out. I bought this car 8 months ago. It is Certified Pre-Owned and this one was one of the staff demo cars, so it's been well taken care of. Additionally, it was just in the shop @ the dealer last Monday for its 15K service-not more than 6 days ago. Apparently part of the 'multi-point' inspection is to cover all the lights on the car-it passed. So apparently these went out in the last 6 days, Unbelievable to me, but, it is what it is. These lights are LED's. Theoretically they shouldn't 'burn-out'. I'm taking it back to the dealer Monday. I have been a loyal customer to them for over 30 years. I have bought 5 Honda's from them. I'm hoping they will fix this at NO COST to me. I believe the 'pre-owned' warranty is in effect. Seems this is a more common problem than one would expect as I have noticed several comments here to the same issue. I will post the follow-up after I talk to the maintenance department.

This seems to be a common problem on the 2016 Accord with the LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL). LED bulbs should last the lifetime of the car and they are the first and only bulb that is failing this fast. Even the normal incandescent bulbs normally last longer than this. There is definitely a defect of some sort or a quality issue!. having to spend upwards of $400 to replace the lights every 6 months to 2 years is not acceptable.

Accord EX-L With Navigation/Sensing 3.5L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 40,050 miles

I have a 2016 Honda Accord EX-L V6 with Navigation and Sensing, and needed my driver's side entire headlamp assembly replaced as the LED DRL was burned out! This occurred at 33,500 miles and was covered by warranty. However, my passenger side LED DRL burned out as recently as one week ago and now I'm past the warranty. This is unacceptable as LED's are to outlive the life of the car, or at least incandescent bulbs! This is a matter of a faulty and cheap LED lighting system, as opposed to what is prevalent on higher end vehicles (e.g. Audi, Mercedes-Benz, etc.) Nevertheless, I've contacted American Honda Motor Company and have filed a claim, requesting that they address this issue and provide me with a new passenger side headlamp assembly at no cost. I have not yet heard from them at this point!

I wanted to point out, that I have seen numerous Accords (2016 and 2017 9th Generation) that have the same issue, with burnt LED DRL's. This cheapens the cars look!

I hope nobody else has this ridiculous issue to deal with! If you can, and if your LED DRL's burn out, have the dealer replace them BOTH just to be on the safe side!

Like all of the other complaints, the DRL strip under the headlights has gone out on my driver side. Only the side strip is on now. I actually had this happen for the first time last year on the passenger side. Had to take it in, dropped off the car the whole day just to have them inspect it to make sure I didn't break it myself. Of course I didn't! Unknown reason of why it had gone out with the service guy and he asked me if I did something to it. It was a really dumb idea that the whole headlight has to be replaced because of a stupid mistake/design. This shouldn't happen especially for a car at this price. I saw a 2016 Sport with the same problem just the other day as well.

Now I'll have to bring it in and fortunately it's still under warranty. But who knows what is going to happen after three standard three year warranty is up. Honda you need to really fix this.

headlight failure

Half of my passenger side DRL LED Light went bad, on my brand new 2016 Honda Accord Touring. I've seen other forms in the internet of people having similar issues. I think this is a Quality Control Issue since these Honda's are now made in the USA. Things need to be inspected more often. My thought was LED's weren't suppose to burnt faster then regular bulbs.

My daughter drove her first car, which we gave her, for over 10 years. She finally had saved enough to buy a pre owned 2016 Accord Touring. She is so excited. It is a really nice car and has a sporty look. One of the outstanding looks of the car is the DRL strip under the headlights. We drove 270 miles to get this car. By the time we arrived it was dusk. DRL's switch off when headlights come on. So the next day, and 270 miles back to home, we discovered the DRL's are not working properly. The lights are a strip under the full length of the headlight assembly and then turn up at the outboard edge of the assembly. The DRL's come on partially and are on at the edge, but not under the headlights. They are almost unnoticeable and certainly ineffective without the part under the light (facing the oncoming traffic). It's apparently an issue others have experienced in these models. Honda needs to acknowledge the issue and repair/replace the lights. It is a safety feature that has malfunctioned!!

Hey I have a problem with my Daylight Running Light. One of my DRL is half off. I took it to the dealer and told me that I have install aftermarket headlight bulbs and that's what's making it go off. If that was the case wouldn't both my DRL be off. I have also seen other Hondas with their DRL off and the one guy on youtube with the white Honda accord sport.

LED light went out on the right side of my vehicle and a couple of months later the left side went out. The dealer wants to blame my alarm system which I have had for almost a year. The problem with this is my husband and myself have seen other Honda Touring's with the same problem. Why would they make a headlight anyway that is not separate from the LED lights. Now when the LED light goes out you cant just replace the bulb, you have to replace the entire light that will cost you $1200 if your vehicle is not under any warranties. Then to blame it on the alarm system that was put in by a replicable company is crazy. We took it back to them alarm company which they gladly checked over their work with no issues or complaints. The alarm was put in correctly. We have had the alarm for almost a year with no issues. Hopefully more people will complain and they will realize that the headlights are a problem.

Though this is my third Honda Accord and I love my Honda, it's not like this is the first time they have had headlight issues that they had to issue recalls for.

Let's get this right Honda fix the dang lights. The Touring cost me too much.
