Accord Sedan 3.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 48,000 miles

2016 Honda Accord steering pulling to the right. Hands Free, at the count of the 3, vehicle is off the road. Honda service center did wheel alignment & moved front tires to the rear. Tires are Continental Contact Contipro (installed by this dealer 2 years ago). When I left the service dept & drove away the car was still pulling to the right. I felt like it was even worse. I went back to the dealer & an Advisor took it for a test drive & said it was okay & that I was driving on a slope/hill & it was to be expected. Unbelievable, as this was not noticed in the past.

And I expect that a car should stay on the road (even on a non-level road). The next time I took the car out, I asked a person to ride along & the car was again pulling to the right, which means that I am struggling to keep it on the road, and the front tires are now being worn down. My witness agreed there is a Definite Problem. There is a Solution to every Problem. Find the Answer.

I will once again take it back to the Honda service & try to get answers.

Accord Sport 2.4L

The car has a very strange off center feel when driving it, it wanders on the highway left and right, and has a vibration in the steering wheel. You have to pay attention when driving the car and ensure you are driving closer to the left lines on the road because the car is wide, you cannot see the right side of the car over the hood and dash. It has a weird sensation of not knowing if you are centered in the lane you are driving in.

Update from Jun 5, 2019: Found rear caliper guide pins in rear sticking and dry; found M-77 brake lubricant paste between brake caliper piston and rubber dust cover surrounding brake caliper piston both front and rear calipers. Piston dust covers were sticking to pistons; Cleaned the calipers around piston and dust boot (front and rear); cleaned the braked carriers and pad retainers; Lubricated the brake carrier, new pads, and calipers using Honda specified brake lubricants (silicone grease on caliper piston face, back of brake pads on the piston side, Silicone grease on caliper pins / M-77 grease everywhere else - pad guides/back of outer pads)

Cleaned rust off face of rotors, back of aluminum wheels, applied "VERY LIGHT" coat of aluminum anti-seize between rotor hub face and wheel hub contact points to keep rust/corrosion to a minimum (wipes surfaces with dry rag after applying anti-seize to prevent potential running/spreading onto rotor brake surface area)

Had dealer perform alignment and car drives like a dream,
