Car was dead in the morning after sitting for 2 days. I've never had the car sit for a few days, but once I saw that it's common for these cars to die after sitting, I knew I had to report it. There is definitely some type of drain going on.

battery died prematurely

I'm on my 3rd battery for my Honda Accord 2017. The first battery went out within the first year of having the vehicle. I was still within the warranty time frame when the battery went out the 2nd time however they told me that the warranty was void since they had already replaced it once, therefore, I had to pay full price. It starts with just going out random then progresses. Both times the battery has gone out they have tried to tell me there is nothing wrong with the battery and it is testing fine. But it gets to the point where it's dying every other day.

The alternator also went out at 60,000 miles and the mechanic said that is very unusual and weird. He also mentioned the battery going bad probably drained the alternator. The mechanics have also said they see a lot of Honda Accord batteries going out prematurely. My friends with Honda Accords have also had battery issues. I have attached the receipt for the battery and alternator seeing as they both went out together.

I purchased a Certified Honda Accord 2017. I have only 27,000 miles on the car. The battery does

not stay charged. I am bringing it in again to have the battery replaced, but it is not the battery. There is a problem with the electrical drain in the car. AAA has jumped started me many times. The last tech recommended I buy a battery maintainer, which I did from Auto Zone. It has been the best thing. The battery

has gotten so bad that I have to place the car on the charger nightly if I want it to start in the morning. I feel like I own and electric car and plug in daily. The Honda garage is always very nice, but they do not solve the problem and do not acknowledge that there is a problem with the car and that it is not the battery. I have been asked over and over again if I have left the lights on. I have not. At this point, I do not know what to do, because I

get stranded. I cannot travel far from hom.

I bought a Honda certified pre-owned car in Sept 2021. Starting around end of April May my car stopped switching on. First time thought we may have to tow it, the towing truck was able to Jumpstart it but still dropped around $200. It's had to be Jumpstarted about 5 times since over the last few months.

Bought it in to the dealership and they said yeah, I need a new battery, but even though I was under warranty, the 'sales warranty' expires after 6 months of purchasing. What bulls***. I refused to pay but I don't know how long this battery will last now either. Huge cost in terms of time, health and general inconvenience.

If the car sits idle for more than 3 or 4 days, the battery dies leaving my daughter stranded 3 states away from me. We had the battery replaced and the problem persists. I'm not sure what to do at this point.

This was the second battery I have had replaced on this vehicle after owning it for only 4 1/2 years so there is obviously a problem with either the batteries used or something in my electrical system killing the battery life. I had to have AAA cone out and jump my car to get it to the dealership. The service advisor initially told me the battery was out from under the warranty and said I would have to pay for a new battery.

At this point I angrily told them to go ahead and replace the battery. They had my service history and knew I had already replaced the original battery within two years of owning the car. The service advisor ended up replacing the battery for free but I know this battery will probably also die within 2-3 years.

I was very surprised that the original battery died after essentially a year and a half. Typically the original battery lasts between 6 and 7 years.

I bring my car to the Honda dealership for oil change and filter every so often and they have never said anything about the battery. All I heard was they did check point inspection and everything was ok. A few days afterwards, my battery died, and I end up buying a new battery.

My car has 15k miles on it, the car couldn't start in the morning on 02/08/21. I had to call my insurance and jump start the car. I end up replacing my battery with Interstate Battery in Firestone which costed $170.

I had to constantly have jumps from strangers and calling and paying tow companies for jumps. Mind you this was in the dead of summer, after going to Honda Servicer Center in Waldorf, MD several times to complaining about this. I eventually had to buy a new battery. Not fair at all.

It has been only 30 months the battery died. Warranty only covers 50% of the new battery but not the labor. If I go to a dealer, the new batter warranty does not apply, i.e. only the left months of the old battery will apply. And I will have to call a tow. Not worth it. Went to Walmart picked up one and DIY. The OEM battery is only 440 CCA, and any replacement battery from COSTO or WALMART has > 500 CCA. Later found out many complaints about the same battery on youtube. Honda is just cheap.

One more trick, most auto parts websites I checked suggest a battery size Group 51R, but the OEM battery is size group 35. Group 51R is narrower than group 35. Better check the size before you buy.

Honda should have vigarous quality control of all installed products to retain their reputation. Saw the trend that it is going down.
