I had the piece in the middle of the dash replaced, that's where it is coming from. Poor design, it lifts up and that's what causes the noise. The replacement is now doing it. It lasted a few months without noise.

Rattle coming from instrument panel. Very annoying. Doesn't happen all the time which is why they can't detect it when it happens. I was told that there were items in my side door storage that were rattling. Made me feel like I was dumb and I was the reason it happens......

My 2018 Honda is a piece of junk! I bought my Honda Accord Touring in August 2018... Too many bells and whistles to figure out unless you have a PH.D in technology!

Naturally, I have to visit the Honda Service Dept. to find out which button to push. When I purchased the car, the agent rushed us through the technology part.... I have other complaints to follow.

On this car this is not linked to the HUD display issue. This is more of a buzz than rattle and comes from the middle of the dash pad, more noticeable at certain low engine RPM. Dealer said only fix was to dig into the dash which I did not agree to as it could produce more and worse issues.

Same issue as all other owners of the new 2018 Accord. Annoying temperature dependent rattle from from driver side dash.

Going into London Honda for second visit this week. Will advise on how this dealership deals with the issue. This is the second time they have had it and first time said no trouble found. There is also a rear deck rattle as well when the stereo plays. Fixed by dealer but has come back. A real piece of junk. Should have went with Hyundai or Toyota.

Kind of annoying when the dealer says we found nothing wrong...well why would I take my vehicle in for the hell of it if there was not an actual legit noise problem?

Likely my last Honda as their quality has gone to sh*t!

I bought a brand new 2018 Honda accord LX two weeks ago from Gary Yeomans Honda Daytona Beach . A few days ago start getting a rattling sound coming from the driver side of the Dash up on top actually behind the radio and sounds like it could also be coming from the vents. When I accelerate from a dead stop and continue to accelerate that’s when the sound starts I get up to about 40 or 50 miles an hour it’s seem to go away . Every once in a while when I hit a bump in the road it comes back.

I took it to the dealership today I explained what was going on they said they need it for a day or two so they can really check into it and gave me a loaner car. I informed him I checked on YouTube social media and there’s many complaints out there about the same problem with the same year car .Of course they told me oh this is the first one we’ve ever had come in here with that problem THAT'S WHAT I EXPECTED THEM TO SAY. I told him I just spent $25,000 on this. I just retired bought this as my gift to myself after working 33 1/2 years. Spent almost all of my retirement savings to buy this car. I wanted a really safe car because I take my granddaughter to and from school on certain days and on the weekends I take her places. When I was taking my granddaughter to school this morning she asked me Papa what is that loud sound. I told them if they can’t fix it I want another car will see how that goes.

If I have to I’ll go to Honda themselves and also talk to the owner of the dealership. This is unacceptable for a brand new car and I expect something to be done I’ll take it as far as I have to. I’m very disappointed pissed off and stressed out. Gary Yeomans has a great reputation and hopefully this situation will be taken care of quickly. I traded in a 2007 Camry never had one squeak rattling noise in the car all the years I had it.

Accord EX-L 1.5L

This is definitely annoying and as most of the complaints made by the users, the vibration occurs around 1500 - 2000 RPM, and disappears. This is mostly prominent in the mornings when the engine is cold.

I had several wasted visits to the dealership and nothing really helped. I kept the car with them several overnights so they could investigate with cold engine. I have told them how this can be reproduced. They have taken apart the whole dashboard and looked (they say) and once they came back saying it was fixed. Surprise!!! NO.

Now my mileage hit 20000 km mark and the vibration is still there. I was on my winter tires and due to the noise if the winter tires, the vibration was less prominent. Now back on my regular all seasons, and yes I can hear it again.

This has been my most disappointing Honda Accord (my 3rd Accord BTW). Could be my last too. I have another complaint under Honda Sensing.

I get a buzzing noise from behind the radio console when accelerating. It usually happens when you put a load on the engine (i.e. starting from a stop) and when accelerating from around 40-45 mph. It's short lived but irritating none the less.

Any suggestions..?

Rattling noise under dashboard. Adding to the horror the worst customer service. I will never do business with Hillside Honda or buy another car from Honda. Brought the car in on several occasion to have them fix the problem. What a waste of time that is, all they do is find excuses. Bunch of lazy ass workers. Brand new car to be going through this nightmare. All they care about is grabbing your hard earn dollars.

This is another data point for Complaint #19. I have a rattle noise coming from the center, upper dash (near the center vent near the windshield) when accelerating at 1500 - 1900 RPM. The acceleration must be under higher torque situations (e.g. from a stop or low speed; highway speed the noise is never hear, even under acceleration).

It appears to be temperature dependent as I do not hear it currently in an Ohio winter. That being said, this winter has had some warmer days (50 degrees F) and the rattle has definitely occurred on some of those days. I am unable to reproduce it consistently, so of course when I take it into the dealer they are unable to hear the noise. I have given up currently trying to take it in for this issue and will maybe pick back up in the spring.

This car has dash rattle problem around 1200-1800 rpm. The noise seems to be coming from the heater box behind the center ac vent or below the steering wheel column. I recently brought the car in to have it checked, the dealer service tech removed the dash, but they cannot fix the problem. The dash still rattle like usual. To make it worse, now that my dash has been removed and reinstalled, I'm hearing loader road noise and wind noise. This is the worse thing that had happened to me and I'm stuck with a brand new car that sounds like a 1991 Corolla without insulation.

Annoying buzzing or vibration coming from somewhere in the dash area. Mostly hear when I stop and go on a red light and accelerate. Only hear it under acceleration around 30-50 mph. Can't tell precisely where it's coming from. So far no fix.

If anyone found a solution to this problem, please reply. It awful to get this issue on a brand new car.

When first leaving the dealership, the HUD was rattling and the salesperson said there is NO repair solution except to wait til they find a solution. Returned it a few months later, they installed a different dashboard and that didn't do anything but the rattle appeared louder plus a new rattle appeared in the middle of the dash. It's been ten months now and the warranty is expiring and one wonders if that is what Honda wants - to wait for warranty to expire so they wouldn't have the responsibility to repair it. If they do not want to repair this then we should be able to return it for another one. I see a LONG LIST of this Accord model with this same rattle complaints from owners and yet Honda is not doing anything to fix this problem.

There is a really loud sqeak in the dash where the HUD is located. It is the HUD rubbing on the dash it seems like. It is worse when it is warm out. I have also had issues with rattles in other parts of the car that I can't seem to precisely locate where it is coming from.

I got my 2018 Accord end of October 2017. Few weeks later, I noticed my car makes rattling sound. I took my car to the service center twice so far. The result was problem never solved. I made another appt for Honda service center this Friday. I have to take my vacation day off to go visit the service center again. This is totally wasting time and money. I uploaded a video from Youtube, the rattling sound is exactly same as mine. I recorded many videos of mine. The noise really makes me crazy... I don't think Honda will solve this problem this time too but, at least I want to try. Hoping this 3rd visiting will be my last visit.

This seems to be a very common problem based on the other 12 complaints about the same issue. I took my car in for two rattles. This being one of them. Service department said that the heads up display unit was rubbing on the dash creating the high pitch squeaking/rattling. They said that Honda is aware but does not have a fix for it as of yet. They advised that they "insulated the unit" with some tape and that it didn't go away completely, but that its "better". They told me that once Honda releases a fix that they would contact me to bring it back in..

Unfortunately, the second rattle that was coming from my B pillar has kept my car in the shop for almost a month now so I really don't know if their "fix" or attempt at a fix will even work. This rattle is quite loud for those of you have not had the bad luck of hearing it. It is so loud that the person in the car with me prompted up and asked "what the hell is wrong with you car man??"... super embarrassing considering the car is a little over a month old and the top of line model...

Accord Touring 2.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 3,000 miles

I have a 2018 Honda Accord Touring with 3000 miles on it. From late May of 2018 my car developed a squeaky sound coming from driver side dash board. The squeaking sound is coming from the heads up display area on the dash. There is a border piece around the heads up display that is rubbing against the dash. It have tried several things to stop the noise, but only thing that works is if you press on the border piece and hold it. I've researched this online and there are several Youtube videos and complaints regarding this noise.

I have an appointment with the dealer but the service manager indicated they haven't had any issues like this and there are nothing mentioned on the Honda Forum about this noise. One post indicated that Honda found similar problems from US and their engineers are working on it to find a permanent solution to this problem. This noise is driving me crazy and I'm about ready to just get rid of the car if they can't fix it. It just seems like the dealership will try and do a quick fix (Foam tape) and send me on my way. Any new information about this issue?
