Was not very happy with the dealership for putting such crappy Continental Tires on a Brand New Car that didn't last. I didn't know the half of it.

CR-V ES 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 135,000 miles

The 2007 Honda CRV has been a good vehicle overall but has consistently worn tires prematurely. At 135,000 miles I'm unsure exactly how many sets of tires I've had to purchase for this vehicle. 20,000 to 30,000 miles is the maximum any set of tires has held up on this car. I've recently purchased 70,000 mile tread wear tires and will monitor usage for warrantee. Tires are changed out every spring and fall for winter and summer driving. Two sets of winter tires have been purchased. The remainder sets have been summer tires. Most years seem to require a new set of summers in the spring at change out. This spring, the tires were about 1/4" of tread and we tried to finish them off over the summer. They did not make it and were changed out about a month ago for the 70,000 mile tread wear tires. We've tried different manufacturers, all wear poorly, including the OEM tires. No tire to date holds up on this car.

We have experienced even tread wear with slightly more wear seen on the front tires. Rotation makes little difference. Little to no cupping is occurring, just extremely poor tread retention.

Had over 30,000 miles on the car and they said it would not pass inspection. Another 30000 later and another $700 had to put another set up tires on. They are always rotated every other oil change. If this car would not go well in the winter, I would not ever buy another one.

THE BRIDGESTONE TIRES PUT ON THIS CR-V STINK. THEY MAKE MORE NOISE THEN A LARGE TRUCK TIRE AND ONLY LAST ABOUT 32,000 MILES. I ALSO HAVE A (02) C-RV THAT THE TIRES DID NOT NEED REPLACING UNTIL ABOUT 55,000 MILES. WHATS UP WITH THIS HONDA. DO YOU THINK I WILL BUY ANOTHER ONE ? ALSO THE NAVIGATION SYSTEM IN MY (07) STINKS. IF THE SUN IS OUT YOU CAN NOT SEE IT BECAUSE OF THE GLARE.. SAME FOR THE BACKUP CAMERA. AND YES I DID READ PAGE 94 AND DID ADJUST..

CR-V EX-L 2.4L I-Vetech 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 30,000 miles

The original Continental tires were worn out at 30,000. I had monitored tire pressure and had balanced and rotated every 6,000 miles. I felt it was a tire problem. I got a new set of Goodyear same size and rating. Went to Honda dealer and had alignment checked (was done under warranty) as they said the abnormal tire wear was a defect and was done free, was only slightly out in right rear. I didn't contact Continental tire as I felt it was the tire and didn't want to replace with same tire, have always had good lick with Goodyear both original equipment and as replacement.

CR-V LX 2.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 34,175 miles

Leased my CRV in 2007 for a four year lease. Here In Quebec Canada we have a winter tire law. This puts less mileage on my summer tires. My summer tires have about 32,000 kms usage on them and they are completly finished. This will force me to go out and buy new tires just to give the leased car back next January with these new tires. Before they implemented this winter tire law, my other cars all season tires would last me at least 5 years with twelve months a year usage. I contacted Bridgestone and they sent some guy to my house to check the tires and agreed they were finished. All he did was try to sell me new Bridgstone tires. I will never go near Bridgestone ever again.

CR-V Ex-l Navi Standard

  • Automatic transmission
  • 29,000 miles

I live in Southern California and had driven to my sister's outside Sacramento right after New Years. I had never looked at the tires knowing that they weren't that old and that I hadn't driven 50,000. The mileage point was significant to me because I had a 1996 Honda Accord that came with Michelin tires and I didn't have to replace those until I reached about 55,000 miles. So......I never looked. In her driveway the front wheels were turned significantly when I had parked. When I went to re-enter the vehicle I saw how bad the tires were and mentioned it to her. I have been unemployed for 2 years and searching for a job. Othern than a job interview I drive approximately 1 mile to grocery store or anywhere else at a time. Because of low driving miles, close to home and 2 years of no income I haven't replaced the tires. After my sister alerting me to this site I will be contacting the Honda dealer (Honda World Downey) and see what they have to say. My car is out of warranty because I bought it in July 2007 but doubt the tires would have been covered anyway. The OEM tires on my CRV are Bridgestones so I thought that was the problem. I will update at a later date.

Update from Jan 10, 2014: So I purchased new tires in May of 2011 to replace my worn out tires. Now again at less than 30,000 miles the front tires are worn out again. I love my Honda CRV but can't afford the tires. Has Honda ever acknowledged they have an issue with this? I replaced them with Yokohama Prada (sp?) tires at about $600. I never put cheap tires on my car....I go with the thought in mind that my life is riding on those tires.....but this time I am going to go the cheaper route and buy the tires that are $89 apiece....it doesn't have anything to do with the tire, the problem has to do with Honda. I would appreciate if anyone has challenged Honda with this issue.

Bridgestone OEM...need replacing at 43,000 km. I don't put on a lot of kms per year so I'll suck it up and drive through the summer then put on a better brand. Curious though if tire pressure sensors will still work if I don't go through Honda.

My car is 4 years old. Love the car EXCEPT the tires! My sensor went off alerting me to a tire issue. I had a small leak that was not fixable. I was told that I needed to replace the tires AGAIN. SO this is my 3rd set of tires in 4 years. I am really good at keeping up with all the recommended maintainence for the car... I see that I am not the only one that has had this problem. It would be nice if Honda did something about it!

CR-V EX 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 31,000 miles

Bought the pre-owned CR-V 2007 with an extended bumper-to-bumper warranty. I heard significant noise and felt bumper after driving about 10000 miles, and one tire leaks. Dealer told me tire worn was uneven and the original tires were not covered by factory, and suggested to install 4 new tires plus a while alignment for $900. Now I have put another 3000 miles. This is really annoying. I love the car but hate this manufacturer tricks.

Shocked to learn from dealer during state safety inspection that tires will need to be replaced soon. Dealer has performed all regular maintenance/service, and driving habits do NOT lead to worn tires at 25,0000 miles. Tire warranty is based on "tread depth," not mileage. Disgusted!

2008 - Not sure what problem was exactly but was hearing loud noise coming from rear end. Honda said I must have had an accident (which I didn't) Honda convinced me to put an insurance claim through. The factory tires were wearing already at 39,000 km. Had them replaced in May/08. Had tires replaced again in Dec/09 due to wear; odometer reading 101,000 km then. My CR-V has only been serviced by a Honda dealer and had only Honda preferred tires directly from their shop.

Again, now my vehicle is at 137,000 km and the tires are worn. The same whirring noise in rear end is back. Took in for servicing Nov/10, and they tell me they're not sure what problem is. I think Honda needs to investigate. Not sure if this can pose a safety issue as I am reading that vehicles are pulling and excessive wear of tires is not unique to my vehicle. My dealer did just advised that theres the same problem with another CR-V. I am going to continue to push this matter to ensure that safety is paramount in their investigation, if there is even one, or perhaps to push for more investigation and possible recall if this is a common problem.

bought the crv in dec.of 07. a noise became very loud in the cabin of the car. at 12000 miles it was pretty loud .I complained to the dealership and was told the tires were cupping .i had been faithful about maintenance on the car particularly to keep the tires rotated.at 18000miles I complained again and had them check the alignment and tire balance I was told everything was alright .I got vibration in the front end and when I took the car in to service it at 24000miles .pitched such a bitch they replaced the tires.now I am at 48000miles rotating the tires and checking the front end and the road noise is unbearable again.honda dealer said they are not doing anymore.I am not trying to get new tires, I need them to fix the problem that is knocking tires out every 24000 miles.I was told the struts have not been redesigned up thru 2010. Suspension to them is not the issue .I thought at first the dealership was charging me for rotation of tires and was not doing it .now I am getting more suspicious this could be the case ,although it does not explain why all four tires would be severely cupped. It will be a added overhead on this car to have to put tires all-weather tire every 24000miles not counting the noise level until then./somebody come up with answer.

I started hearing from my mechanic that my tires were wearing out at around 32,000 miles. Now I am facing a new set with 40,000 miles. These are the bridgestone oem. I am disappointed for 2 reasons. A 1999 crv set of tires lasted 70 - 80,000. These tires are the ridiculous 17 inches rims that cost a fortune. I am losing my faith in Honda. Had 2 incidents this year with honda cars that were unexpected.
