Takata recall- I rcvd the letter from Honda in March 2016, stating parts would be available in summer 2016- called my dealer because I wasnt sure I would feel safe driving a deathtrap around (I decided I didn't want to leave my car at the dealership for months). Nothing was ever mentioned to me that I had to order the airbag myself. Nor does it state such in the letter. I called my dealer in the middle of summer 2016 since I had heard nothing- and of course no one answers in the service department. A couple weeks later my salesman calls to check in on me (courtesy call I suppose) and I mentioned the airbag. He transfers me to the service dept were I am informed I was supposed to order the airbag and that is why I have heard nothing. I have never dealt with a recall before but considering how serious this one is- why on earth wouldnt the parts just be shipped out and customers called to come in at their earliest convenience? or at the least a courteous call be made months ago. I bought a Honda because they are supposed to be reliable cars. Not sure I will ever buy one again after this mess. My dealership is keeler Honda, 1111 troy schenectady rd, latham NY 12110.

Takata recall: Received notice of recall from Honda March 2016 stating a letter would be sent when parts are available. July 2016, received 2nd letter from Honda again stating a letter would be sent when parts are available and "suggesting" that I avoid having front seat passengers until the repair is performed. 4-5 months passed between issuance of the 2 letters; how long am I expected to avoid using my front seat"? there have been reports that the air bag danger is more imminent in areas with high heat/humidity. I live in southeast Louisiana. Shouldn't these repairs be expedited??"

Takata recall: Received recalled letter in March 2016 which started that repair will be done this summer. In July I received a second letter with a warning that Honda suggested that to avoid having a passenger sit in the front passenger's seat. I called the number listed in the letter and was told I can have a loaner until repair is done which I got through a local dealership. Within a week I was notified that the repair can be done. On August 3rd the driver's side was done; was told they didn't know when the passenger side will be done and that I need to return the loaner car. I have made several calls to Honda division informing them of the inconvenience this has on my family for not having any one sitting in the front passenger's seat. Each time I was told that a manager will call me back. As of today no one has returned a call. It seems that because I was using a loaner car the driver's section repair was done quickly. I am disappointed and angry that they don't care what the effects are to my family. The knowledge of this recall for my family is now close to six months and still not yet taken care of.

Takata recall I contacted the local Honda dealership in March 2016 when I rec'd the recall notice. I was told they did not have any "loaner" vehicles and that they would contact me once the replacement parts arrived. Having not heard from the dealership, I called again on 11july 2016 only to be told the parts were never ordered and they said they would now order. I again called the dealership on 19aug'16 inquiring when our CRV would be repaired and was told that the parts are not in yet and that they would contact us when they arrive. No alternate vehicle was offered during this conversation. I now have a recall on the airbag for my 2010 Honda Accord as well. I notified the dealership of this recall as on 19aug'16 and said they will orderthe necessary parts. I now have two vehicles that Honda says the "defects in these vehicles could kill or injure you or other people in your vehicle". we are starting to feel very uneasy about driving either vehicle and Honda doesn't seem to want to fix our vehicle(s) or provide a loaner vehicle or two. Not sure what to do? thank you. [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
