CR-V EX 4 cyl

The key fob has broken apart. The dealer wants to charge upwards of 125 to 150 to replace with a new one and to have it programmed. It represents poor design on Honda's part. How can they justify charging so much for a defective design that could just as easily break apart. The car is just under three years old and they say this is not covered under any warranty even though we bought extended warranty.

broken key fob broken key fob

i find the key fob to be a major design flaw..i had a 2009 honda accord( 3 year lease) that had a different fob and never had any of this problem. We got this CRV on the friday after thksgiving 2011 and we already have an issue. It has too much stress on the area with the most torque..I will not pay a cent for their design flaw. If I have to use the valet key and turn in 2 defects I will
