CR-V SE V4

I was going down a mild incline and braked to stop for cars in front of me at a red light. The engine revved up, this time so fast that I had to use all my strength to push on the brake pedal to hold the car from going forward into the cars in front of me. It really was scary. I then shifted into neutral so the car wouldn’t move and the engine continued to rev and I heard a knocking sound coming from the engine. It sounded like my washing machine when it gets out of balance and knocks. This incident really shook me..

This is a very bad safety issue. I tried to stop at a red light and stepped on the brake. The car stopped but the engine maintained the its speed. I had to press very hard on brake so car wouldn't move. I put the car in neutral and the revs continued so I turned the engine off. I started the car again and everything was ok. To clear up a few things: the mats are original Honda mats and snapped to the floor; I did not have my foot on the gas and brake at the same time; I did not notice any check lights come on; I do not think the gas pedal is sticking.

I stopped at a red light to make a left turn. On green I accelerated into the turn when an oncoming car cut in front of me. I hit the brake and the car stopped but the engine revved up and I had to push hard on the brake to stop the car from going forward. Very scary safety issue.
