CR-V EX 2.4L I4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 36,000 miles

Have you ever seen the videos of factory-workers who are forced to wear noise-canceling headphones over their ear-plugs? Without them the constant deafening hum of the machines would surely drive them insane.

Yeah, that was me. Insane. On the highway. In my CR-V.

As soon as I reached 60mph my car would start to HUUUUUMMMMM like a swamp air-boat full of 'gater hunters. It was so loud that at times it was hard to have a conversation with the person in the passenger seat.

I knew it was probably a wheel bearing but I refused to believe it was a wheel bearing because for the love of everything I only had 36,000 miles on the car. Alas, that's what it was and the repair nearly wiped me out.

I'll probably have to pick up a new job. Maybe they're hiring at one of those factories -- goodness knows I'm used to the noise.
