CR-V Touring 2.4L 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 49 miles

vibration between 40 & 70mph

My wife and I purchased a new 2015 Honda CRV Touring. It's a very nice car except that it vibrates and is very annoying. Honda admits that there is a vibration but has no fix for it but says it's a characteristic of the car. Why would Honda build a car with this characteristic when so many people are complaining about it. It's not popular. We have made six trips to two dealers with only minor improvement.

Update from Apr 2, 2016: We tried the lemon law and still got no where. We tried everything we could think of with no satisfaction. We had the Honda for 3 months and finally traded it for a 2015 FORD EDGE. It's a great car, but we took a big loss on the Honda. We love the Ford and at least we are happy.

CR-V EX L 4 Cyl

  • Automatic transmission

The excessive vibration while stopped at a light is bad enough.....but while driving on the freeway going 70 Miles Per Hour...you can really feel the entire vehicle and steering wheel shaking is beyond maddening.

CR-V EX-L 2.4L Earth Dreams

  • CVT transmission
  • 1,000 miles

I had a perfecting functioning CRV for the 1st 500 miles then I was hit with the dreaded vibration issue so many drivers are reporting. I called Honda and made an official report. I was told by Honda that I have what their engineers have termed a "Mode 1" vibration problem. When I am at a stop light, in gear with foot on the brake the CRV will drop from about 800-1000rpms to 500 whereby the entire vehicle will shake considerably and the engine will feel like it is about to stall. It is horrible. The engine computer seems to have no idea where it should be idling at is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to aggressive in keeping the RPM's low. When I am driving at 30 mph the CVT forces the engine to run at just over 1000rpm's. The CRV then shudders until I give it more gas. It feels like trying to drive a 5 speed manual in 5th gear at 30 miles an hour.

Honda has "admitted" via 2 YouTube videos that there in indeed a problem however as of September 2015, almost one year since they released this version of the CRV, there is only one fix offered by Honda even though there are 3 "Modes" of vibrations that Honda engineers have identified.

I'm a big boy and I can live with "some" vibrations but what my and many other CRV users are experiencing are NOT just mere "characteristics" of the CRV as Honda keeps telling us. My dealer agrees that there is a problem and that other buyers are also affected. What is frustrating is that Honda has been too slow to react to the issue, initially downplayed the problems as "normal" then finally admitted via YouTube that there is indeed a problem.

If not for this issue I would love this car - the mileage is excellent, the sound system is great and the ride is very pleasant. I'm sorry Honda but you dropped the ball on this mid cycle refresh and the slow response to acknowledge or even fix the issue is simply unacceptable for a $30,000 car in 2015. Honda was known for its refinement and engine technology but to say that your product's vibrations are a "characteristic" is ridiculous. Who purposely designs engines to vibrate, nearly stall and attempt to drive at nonsensical low speed drive ratio's?

I'm sorry but I am finished dealing with this issue and will not consider another Honda. A 2016 Hyundai Tucson will soon be in my driveway.

CR-V LX 4 cyl

  • CVT transmission
  • 81 miles

Brand new CRV. Runs fine when cold. When it warms up, the engine/transmission has a vibration between 1000 and 2000 rpm. The shift points are set up so it almost always is in this range-probably to get better gas mileage. Dealer says there are no updates from Honda. The chip needs a new program to make it run better. This is very annoying and can't be good for longevity of the drivetrain. If Honda wants to keep their good reputation, they need to get on this and not give the standard answer "they are all this way". Its as if no one from Honda Engineering ever drove the car or they would have noticed. Other people have similar issues.
