A lot of us are having heating issues with our 2017 CR-V (1.5 turbo). The real problems start at about 15 degrees Fahrenheit.the car will not heat up with normal city driving the engine temp gauge stays at 0. the colder it gets outside the worse it is. Cause we have already seem much cooler temps than 15 like -15.if I drive on the hi-way the engine temp gauge will raise to normal operating temp although the cabin air never really gets warm it is better than nothing, worst heat output of any vehicle I have ever owned once I leave the hi-way and get in the city the engine temp gauge will go back to 0 if I have to stop and wait at traffic lights.on my way to work the car can be at normal engine operating temp I stop at a gas station to get a drink leave the car idling get back in less than 2 minutes and the engine temp gauge is back to 0 again.so I decided to run some test.I checked the CR-V outside temp pretty warm at around 30 Fahrenheit.temp set to hi fan on hi, temp out vents was 140 Fahrenheit this is not passing by the manufacturing standards I found on the web.temp set to hi fan speed low, temp out vet 155 Fahrenheit this is 15 degrees warmer which show even at 30 degrees Fahrenheit outside air temp the heating system can't maintain its temperature with fan on hi. Test was done at 70 mph.cold start test temp and fan both on hi outside temp around 30 degrees Fahrenheit 10 minutes idling CR-V vent temp 80 Fahrenheit. I did the same tests on our rav4 and the temps were 30-40 degrees higher on average and this was with warner temp outside air like I said it start to get bad at 15 degrees Fahrenheit.this is a safety concern cause if cold and snowing the CR-V doesn't have the power/heat to defrost windows / melt the falling snow in a snowstorm.this is a design problem that many of us are having and we need Honda to step up and fix.Honda needs to look at look at a

Car is garaged (unheated). This am, the windshield wiper fluid would not spray even though I heard the spray motor running. I tried the spray in my wife's 2017 Accord and the spray worked. In my 60 years of driving with many different cars, this is the first time this has happened and we have had plenty of freezing days over the years. The spray lines must be in an exposed position and this is a dangerous situation. With cars ahead of you on the road throwing up snow, salt, etc. Onto the windshield and you cannot clean it, the visibility will be obscured. If this is not corrected, those with CRV's will be hard pressed to drive on snowy days.

Vehicle in motion on highway during winter weather. Windshield fluid nozzles froze. When attempting to clean the windshield with the windshield fluid, the wipers come on automatically for three sweeps. Because there was no available fluid, the wipers smeared the snow, dirt, and salt on the windshield, resulting in zero vision. Before attempting to clean the windshield, I had some visibility. After attempting to clean the windshield, I had no visibility. This "convenience feature" of automated wiper swipes is therefore dangerous and should be banned.

Faulty windshield glass. My vehicle's windshield cracked due to what appears to be weak oem windshield. When I turned on my vehicle defrost a slight crack appeared which continued on to spread along the bottom, near the defroster. A google search shows multiple complaints about 2017 windshield cracking for a myriad of reasons that don't have to do with an accident. The Honda dealership where the vehicle was purchased refuses to replace the windshield unless I pay over a $1000. Now, in order to avoid my insurance going up, I will have to pay over $500 to safelite to replace it. Again this is not an isolated issue.

Windshield wipers in auto mode operate erratically and unpredictably. Even with selector knob at the most sensitive position, the wipers often fail to operate even when the windshield is completely covered with water, with no operation for about 30 seconds or more. When driving down the road with a light rain, wipers fail to reliably operate to maintain clear visibility even with the selector set at maximum sensitivity. A common scenario is driving in a steady rain with somewhat normal (though erratic) operation and then stop at a stop light. When the vehicle is not moving the windshield can become totally covered with rain and the wipers do not come on for an extended period of time, seriously impairing visibility. After the driver realizes that they can no longer see clearly through the windshield, manual intervention is needed to move the wiper selector to a continuous operating mode to clear the windshield. Vehicle was inspected at the dealer for proper wiper operation. Upon arrival the service writer used a hose to spray large amounts of water on the windshield with the wipers in the auto mode and the vehicle idling, and made sure water was covering the raindrop sensor at the top of the windshield. The service writer confirmed a long reaction time before the wipers engaged. Technicians inspected the wiper operation in the shop and claim that it works as intended. Apparently the wipers are either failing to operate according to the design intent, or there is no malfunction and the design is flawed. In either case, relying on the auto mode presents an unsafe condition due to impaired visibility.

Bought a 2017 Honda CRV this March. Drove fine for 3 months & 3K miles. On 6/7/17 the rear windshield exploded. The car was stationary at my work place. It was a hot 92 degree day. A coworker drove by & heard a loud pop & she notice my damaged window & cane to notify me asap. The glass clearly exploded because all indications of the bulging of glass has puffed outward from my car. There's a huge 1 foot wide hole in the center left, it looks like when a chick is hatching from its egg. There's only 2 chunks of glass broken from the hole, one into car, the other rested outside the hole on the wiper. If anything hits it, the glass would of shattered in the center & the would shows white big stress-marks expanding from the hole. Yet none. My whole window shattered starting from both ends of the rear windshield, disconnecting the whole glass from the car. I work as a qa member & we supply parts for Honda. I measure many of the parts we supplied. So I'm not stupid to mention to Honda my glass exploded. I did my research & came across many of these problems, even some were reported here in this forum. I took great pic & videos of the incident & showed both my dealership & Honda corporate & expressed greatly that this is a safety concern. Perhaps a bad defect like a bad defrosting unit where it fails to shut off after engine shuts off or basically defect within the glass during manufacturing process with nickel sulfide in glass. Honda does not cover glass under their warranties so as soon as I mention broken glass, they divert around my questions or gives other possible causes. I'm a qa member who makes & measure parts for them I'm not that dumb. Yet Honda will not investigate this when it clearly concern custoner's safety, mine to be exact. Now I have to spent $500 to fix it & I felt Honda could of look into this, physically. There clearly is a defected factor somewhere.
