CR-V EXL 1.5L Turbo

  • CVT transmission
  • 810 miles

This 2018 Honda CRV EXL cost me over $32,000, not including financing costs. It has 2 major problems and the car doesn't even have 1000 miles on it! At about 650-700 miles, it started to "double beep" very loudly every 2 minutes. There was no warning message in the driver interface while this double beep was occurring. I took car to dealer that afternoon & it wouldn't "double beep" (the problem is intermittent). The 1st time the "double beep" occurred it was for a 2 hour drive, round trip. The 2nd time it did this was only a 20 minute drive to a local store. When I came out of store, I was going to drive it to dealer (as the service manager suggested), however, the "double beep" had stopped. The dealer's service manager's answer is to drive the car to dealership as soon as the "double beep" starts! This is crazy...what if I'm going to work or to an important meeting, what am I supposed to do, drive a half hour to dealer and miss work or appointment? This is also poor service!!

I checked the engine oil and it is overfilled now and is smelling like gasoline. The oil is also starting to turn black! When American Honda called me back this morning (August 20, 2018) I told the Honda agent and he said that the gasoline in the crankcase oil would not damage or hurt the car in any way! This is ridiculous, it could ruin the engine or possibly even start a fire!!! I worked on Honda's for 20 years as a certified auto body technician and gasoline in the crankcase oil is a VERY serious and DANGEROUS problem!

I do NOT feel SAFE driving this car!
