The car was working very fine when all of a sudden on the drive I noticed some jerks like misfire in the car. This happened say about four to five times in a drive of 15km. I got it checked at a service station. They said two out of eight ignition coils are bad and needs to be replaced. It is actually shooting to ground where the mounting bolt is there. I got it replaced and have to drive a lot to know how it performs. I would like HONDA to study this problem of the coil (Hitachi make) failure. In this combined design of coil and connection through a resistor they have saved the cost of distributor. The coil should be designed in tow parts so that the defective part can be replaced. The main coil as such never fails.
