Civic EX 1.7L 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 1,000 miles

Ever since we purchased this Civic, we have had issues with dings on the exterior of the vehicle. I used to keep the exterior of the vehicle very clean all year long by hand washing it and maintaining it. While cleaning the car, I began noticing dings along the exterior. I questioned my wife about them and she assures me that she is extra careful with her new car. She has always taken care of her things. Apparently, while she is inside shopping or running errands, the Civic will get hit on the side by a careless neighbor in parking spots next to her. Now that we have owned this car for several years, it is beginning to look a lot like a golf ball. My car has some small pea sized dings and scratches that come from the same thing, but my wife's Civic has quarter size dings and larger. The real let down came when my wife was assisting our son unloading his backpack from the backseat and she closed the door with her hip. A large shoe sized ding was left in the door! HONDA HAS WRAPPED THEIR VEHICLES IN A THIN MATERIAL THAT IS PRONE TO DENTS AND DINGS. We are very unsatisfied with this. Lastly, the trim on top of the car is not very secure. It flew off on the freeway recently.
