problem #2

Jul 262014

Civic LX

  • Automatic transmission
  • 66,345 miles

After I paid 2920 to have the transmission fixed, I pick up my car and drove 10 minutes. Car stopped again. This time it was a TDC sensor. I don't know what that is, but it had to be towed again back to the transmission place. They said the problem is NOT the transmission but a TDC sensor. A mechanic nearby fixed it in about 2 hours and charged my $306 for the repair.

So finally I was on my way back home (2 hour drive).

every thing is good car starts nothing wrong, but under the hood is another problem. the battery has a corrisive battery post. so i just went ahead and bought a brand knew battery thats was about $95.00 after removing the old one i replaced it with the new one, i have done this many of times on other cars and trucks its not hard at all. Then the best part i get in the car and try to start the car nothing, every thing comes on but the engine won't turn over, after checking every thing to make sure nothing came loose during the install i can not find any thing, so i call the HONDA DEALER and they say i have to bring the car to them to reprogram the computer, i want to no why. they said when i took the battery out, the car had no power to it so when i put the new one in it clears the computer and it wont let the key start the car cause its not sure if thats the right key. and there is nothing i can do to start the car.this is a problem for me. so for $95.00 battery plus what ever it cost to tow it to the dealer plus the cost to reprogram the computer about $100.00 to $160.00 the way i look at it to change a battery it would cost you about $500.00. I know my next car won't be a honda
