Civic LX

  • Automatic transmission
  • 86,000 miles

I bought this car after i was burned in an accident & got a settlement, being a single mom... thinking this would last me many many years! I purchased the car from Honda Dealership, 4 years ago, and recently started to hear a knocking noise when I pressed the gas pedal. Went to an autozone got oil put in the car..2 days later noise got worse, & stalled on me when pulling (thank God) into my driveway!! had it towed, now they are telling me it had NO OIL in the car. and the engine is SHOT, 1,000 for engine, 1000 for labor!!!!!!! well guess what I DO NOT HAVE THAT KIND OF MONEY!!!!!! so ANGRY

Civic DX 1.8L

  • Manual transmission
  • 112,000 miles

I've owned 5 Hondas three of them civic and have all gone well over 200k miles. And even when I sold them they were still running. I bought a 2006 Civic and have done all the required maintenance, about a month ago I started hearing a rattle sound coming from the engine dept. like it was low on oil. I checked the oil, got an oil change. The problem continued. So I took the car in to have it looked at and was told the rattle was coming from the piston and I need to replace the engine. The car is 4yrs old and has 115k miles on it, Although I've always trusted Honda this will keep me from buying another one. Watch Out!
