The contact owns a 2006 Honda Civic. While approaching a stop at 30 mph, the vehicle revved. The contact had to step on the brake pedal to stop the vehicle. The vehicle has been taken to the dealer twice, but they could not duplicate the failure. The current mileage was 12,745 and failure mileage was 5,343. Updated 01/02/08. The consumer stated while approaching traffic she tried to apply the brakes, it was very difficult to stop the vehicle. The consumer stated the passengers seat belt will lock at times. The contact stated while parking in a parking lot the accelerator pedal became stuck which caused an accident. The vehicle was towed to an auto shop, which was unable to duplicate the problem. There was NHTSA recall 05V509000 for this vehicle but the contact did not receive a recall letter prior to the accident. The manufacturer has been contacted. Update 1/11/2006 -
