Civic LX 1.8L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 7 miles

Bought car new on 10/20/2007. Had the problem with excessive tire wear from day one, tires typically did not last half of their rated life. At 75,000 miles had gone through 4 sets of tires. This is when I received the recall notice. Had Honda replace the rear control arms, got the dealer to get me a new set of Michelin Defenders, 90,000 miles rated. Now at 105,000 miles, I need new tires. Tire replacement expense is becoming a major expense and Pain in the Ass on this car.

Civic ES

  • Automatic transmission
  • 40,000 miles

My first and LAST HONDA.... this car has had several issues the paint peeling is probably the least of it's problems.

Safety Issues - passenger side airbag - waiting over 6 months now for the parts to come in. Both visors broke - I did not know if you don't do the recall that it will expire so now I have two broken visors I would have to pay on my own to fix.

My engine block cracked about 2014. Had to have a new engine installed.

Defective rear control arm was installed (on new car) even though they knew there were problems. This caused tire wear, two sets of new tires, a class action lawsuit that was negotiated so that if you did not record the wear and tear (BEFORE YOU EVEN KNEW THERE WAS A PROBLEM) THEN YOU GOT ZERO DOLLARS REIMBURSEMENT....I am on my 3rd set of tires.

(I can't remember exact timelines so I guessed).

Civic 2.2L

  • Manual transmission
  • 96,000 miles

Purchased Honda Civic Type S CTDI 2007 in Feb 2016 from a car garage. April 2016 I was told I required new tyres. I phoned the garage to ask if this was covered in the warranty they said no. Purchased 2 new rear tyres (Michelins)

May 2016 warranty ran out at garage.

June 2016 took my car in to my local garage for new links and arm on passenger side, also needed two new rear tyres (the michelins had worn down to the metal on the inside after 2000 miles).

August 2016 took back to local garage to check tyres and a weird noise coming from the passenger side. Rear tyres required, AGAIN after 1500 miles. Not sure if there is a solution and no idea what I can do, apparently replacing the control arms may not even work, how do I sell the car? I need the £4750 I paid for it :(
