Civic LX 4 Cy

  • Automatic transmission
  • 103,000 miles

I need to take it in to the dealer to see if it can be simply fixed. I had the tire pressure light go on; filled with air up to the mfg. recommended levels and the tire pressure light would not go out; instead it turned into the TPMS light and the pressure is fine but the light will not go out. If it is the same as my other Civic it will be $500 or more to repair. If that is the case, there will be no repair on this useless piece of tech.

I just bought my Honda Civic about 3 weeks ago. After the first couple days of driving the TPMS light came on when it was raining out. Next day, nothing. It's now been on for about a week straight. After doing some reading I'm realizing it's really just an annoyance. I've been manually checking my tire pressure since I learned to drive 20 years ago. I have a 30 day warranty but the dealer is 120 miles away. By the sounds of it, it doesn't take much for the light to come back on again anyway. I plan on just dealing with it.

TPMS stays on without any reason for it as the tire pressures were checked by Honda a week ago. Before I took the car in for an oil/filter change and a 29 point check TPMS had come on for a few hours and then went away. But this time it seems it is permanent.
