Civic Touring 1.5t

  • CVT transmission
  • 20,000 miles

Bought my Civic touring in July of 2016. Noise from the engine compartment started in august/September. I took it to the dealer to look at. They couldn't do anything at that point. I took video and audio of the noise and took it back in February of 17. They said the compressor was bad and had to be replaced. Ok, cool it will be taken care of. They did the work quickly... even though I had to rent a car for the day. About 2 days later I noticed the same noise again, but very very minor and it went away that day. It is now only March and the noise is back again... constantly. The noise is a moderately loud metallic clanging noise that only happens when the compressor is running. The noise started off only happening above 2000 RPM, then it starts happening constantly and it gets louder and louder. I track my gas mileage and it seems to be affecting it, leading me to believe the compressor is putting a lot of extra strain on the engine.
