The ac has went out on two occasions. The first occasion was due to the system needing to be recharged. The second being a hose was not connected correctly. The back tweeter speakers went out and had to be replaced. 3 audio updates needed to be done. While driving the car stopped accelerating and the car started shaking. There was no brakes or power steering at this time. Different codes started lighting up the dash. I was able to get the car stopped and off the road into the ditch area. It is currently at Honda.

Battery died in normal weather condition in austin tx on 2/20/17. Evey electrical operation was disabled. By jump starting the car, the battery was tested at auto parts shop autozone. The austzone technician reported that the battery was not holding the charge.

I am still having brake system issues and not allowing me to gear and drive! since letter for recall in November, which already set appointment with dealership to reprogram or reboot system they stated would take care of, I have been back twice after that. I also have issues with the warning exclamation light flashing and was told all's fine the new cars are sensitive when take. My bluetooth connect acts up all time where not even being able to use amenities paying for with car.I'm pissed because now outside movie theater with kids and stuck again break locked. Beyond a little inconvenience now. I have never had a bad experience with Honda until got this 2016 Honda Civic

Purchased a new 2016 Civic touring in May 2016. Within a couple of weeks I was having small electrical issues such as screens going black, rebooting, and stereo not working. I would get a failure warning on the dash once in awhile (different each time). Car failed to start on July 26th 2016. All screens were flashing error messages. Car would not start. I called the dealer and had the car towed. Dealer claimed they have never seem this problem. They kept the car for a couple of days and stated there was nothing wrong, and they couldn't replicate the problem. I would continue to have the same small problems with the car every so often. Until, the car slammed on the brakes coming to a complete stop by itself and computer took 100% control of the car. I couldn't steer, accelerate, or control the car at all. I nearly got rear ended in an intersection. There was not a car directly in front of me that would have caused the collision avoidance to brake in order to avoid an accident. After the car came to a complete stop I regained control again and the car operated normal. Soon after, while attempting to start the car I received the all the error codes again and it the car wouldn't start. I again called the dealer and had it towed. Dealer cannot tell me why the car self braked and cannot replicate it. I have an open case# with Honda of America. I have told both the dealership and Honda of America the car is unsafe to drive. My wife and daughter are both scared for their safety to drive it. No one from my family including myself will be driving the car ever again, nor can I sell it to someone else. They need to purchase the car back from me and find out what is causing this to ensure no one gets seriously injured from this happening again.

The contact owns a 2016 Honda Civic. The contact stated that the electric parking brake, brake hold system, and air bag SRS warning indicators flashed, and the lane keep assist warning indicator deactivated. The vehicle lost power and various warning indicators and gauges flickered. The contact was able to coast the vehicle over to the side of the road. The vehicle was unable to be driven and was towed to a dealer. The dealer was unable to replicate and diagnose the failure, but test drove the vehicle. The vehicle was left at the dealer. The contact placed two calls to the manufacturer, left a voice message, and was waiting for a response. The VIN and failure mileage were not available.

While driving 25 mph in daytime/dry conditions/light traffic on a straight portion of a two-lane street, vehicle lost instrumentation (tach, speedometer, and central display) for approx. 45-60 seconds. As system reset, large "H" was displayed for a period and then instrumentation was restored. Queried service rep at the dealership who said it wasn't a known issue. Occurred about Mar 16. Hasn't reoccurred yet.

Certain Honda Civic's have apple's carplay installed, through the ios iphone mobile phone platform. When enabled, or plugged into the car, navigation support provided by apple's maps application goes into 'day mode' while at night. This creates a huge amount of brightness in the car and blinds the driver with brightness. There is no fix for this problem and I can easily see how accidents can be triggered due to blinding interior light due to the apple maps (through carplay) not working properly. This is clearly an error, or poor design by apple/Honda. I believe that carplay's navigation function is a danger to the american public because having huge amounts of sudden brightness causes distraction and major problems with vision.

Vehicle has repeatedly thrown errors with warnings to not drive the vehicle and have it inspected by the dealer. The vehicle has already been to the shop twice for the problem. In both cases Honda installed an updated vsa modulator they claimed would fix the problem. It has not. Not the local dealer doesn't even want to see the vehicle as they tell me their is nothing more they can do for us. They claimed to have emailed Honda corporate to have a regional rep contact us. It has been 4 days since. They say the vehicle is safe, but yet they don't even know what is wrong with it. The vehicle has a defect they cannot correct, and my car is not alone. Each time the error messages appear after starting the vehicle. Each time the warnings instruct you not to drive the vehicle. Bought the car in mid February and it began to read "brake system problem" once the car was turned on and stationary a few weeks after. I took it to the dealership in March and they "cleared" the codes and test drove it. In April, the same error appeared but now with more errors such as "tire pressure low, brake system problem, charging system problem and anti lock brake system problem." I took it to the dealership once again and they replaced the "ABS modulator" and "cleared" the codes. Once again a month later (June), the same errors are appearing.

Car doors will sometimes refuse to unlock / acknowledge remote control after the trunk is closed. The car's computer crashes. At this point, the only way to unlock the door is to take out the emergency key - which will then trigger the theft alarm. Vehicle has been in the service shop 5 times for "brake system failure", "anti-lock brake system failure", "tire pressure monitor system failure", "tire pressure low", and "charging system failure" with no resolve by the dealership. These messages were all on the radio display prior to today to which the dealership said they are false flags. I am not sure how a "brake system failure" anywhere on a dash is a false flag. These messages generally occurred upon startup but many times while driving. Last night, error messages appeared in the instrument cluster and the vehicle refused to start. The vehicle was stationary and would not start up at this time.

There are three problems I want to complain: 1) information screen flickers for 10 minutes after starting the engine. I sent it to dealer shop, but they said that they never heard of such a problem, and had no solution. The problem happened at least three times per week in the past two months. 2) information screen shows six different warning messages after starting the engine, including ABS failure, vsa failure, low battery level, collision mitigation failure, adaptive cruise control failure etc. I took it to the dealer, the reason they told me is that they had one of my tires replaced one week before and TPMS had not been reset correctly. However, why it took two weeks for the system to give the warning messages instead of right after tire got changed? 3) TPMS failed to detect flat tire. I was driving a car with one flat tire for 1 mile, and the TPMS even failed to detect the flat tire.

I cranked up my brand new Honda and a emissions system error displayed. I contacted the dealer and drove it to them. In retrospect that was probably a bad idea. My entire electrical system could have glitched and I could have been hurt. Rodents ate my wiring harness this weekend. As per the service tech at my local Honda dealership the wiring harness and surrounding pieces are made from a soybean derivative. They are attracted to it because essentially it's a protein pack on tires. This is my 7th Honda (Prelude si, Civic si, Accord ex, Civic dx, Honda atv, Honda atv) and I've never had any critter eat anything Honda related before. I still park in the same place. Nothing has changed. My angst is that Honda is unable to provide parts not mad from soybeans. If my new Honda had been manufactured with something less environmentally friendly is is highly probable this loss would not have occurred. The thing that frustrates me the most is that Honda's brand of rodent deterrent tape is not part of any dealer option package. Therefore I wasn't offered a chance to buy the $30 roll of rodent tape from the Honda parts department. Now I'm looking at over $1000 in damage that could have been prevented by tape and Honda cannot guarantee that the way they repair it will not prevent it from occurring again. I've only owned the call for 3 months. I'm extremely concerned it could happen again and that would be another $1000 repair.
