Civic EX 2.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 33 miles

I bought my honda civic and noticed this hesitation immediately. I at first thought it was a normal thing that it's suppose to do, since it was brand new. It happens when I come to a stop and try to take off without stopping completely, it hesitates, then kicks in. I want it fixed, I feel it could cause an accident for sure. If they don't fix it or replace my car as a LEMON I will be at Honda weekly and calling everyday that this problem happens. Maybe if they are tired of hearing about it they will work on fixing it. If not my attorney will contact Honda for me and raise bigger HELL

Civic EX 2.0L

  • CVT transmission
  • 2,000 miles

About once daily and sometimes more there is a hesitation when trying to accelerate (mostly or maybe always when turning left?). The delay is 1-3 seconds and it IS DANGEROUS because it means when I try to accelerate from a corner I am left not being where I want to be in front of another vehicle!

I'm wondering if it has to do with the CVT Transmission because I also occasionally had the issue with my 2015 Honda Civic with CVT trans. This issue NEEDS to be addressed by Honda! I am a huge Honda fan and have had about 6-7 Honda's and I expect Honda to address this issue.

Civic EX 2.0L

  • CVT transmission
  • 250 miles

I purchased a 2016 Honda Civic sedan EX 2.0 engine. I noticed several times when I drive, come to a stop and accelerate after a full brake stop, my car will not immediately accelerate when pressing the gas pedal. Today, I came to a stop sign, complete brake stop, pressed gas pedal and no forward motion whatsoever, applied my brake for a quick second again then pressed gas pedal and car advanced forward fine. Each time it's happened it did not jerk forward, it was more normal forward motion from a stop. I've noticed this also pulling into a parking spot between 2 cars, I brake to align properly, simply lift my foot off of the brake as there is no need for manual pedal gas acceleration figuring the car would just naturally move forward without gas pedal use, it did not move for a second or two then suddenly started to move. I can deal with that latter scenario but concerned that from a stop sign or traffic light I will get rear-ended if I take my foot off of the brake, my brake lights go off but my car doesn't move forward. I've only owned this car 2 weeks, love the car otherwise but this issue has me concerned. Since it's only been 2 weeks I wanted to be sure I wasn't imagining the problem (not believing a 2 wk old car would do this). I have not yet inquired with dealership/repair technician where I purchased the car but will very soon. IF ANYONE HAS ANY INSIGHT, PLEASE ENLIGHTEN ME AND MAKE COMMENTS/SUGGESTIONS). No warning lights of a problem. Could this be an electronic signal that brake pedal isn't released, fuel pump, transmission?
