Fit LX

  • Automatic transmission
  • 19,275 miles

I only have 19,275 miles on my FIT XL. I bought it brand new in 2015. Recently my vehicle will intermittently not start. Starter system light comes on and then I turn ignition completely off and try again and car starts right up.

I took it into my local Honda Dealership (where I bought it) and got a "Diagnosis" ...charged me $62.50. The test came back with me needing a Starter. I have been quoted a charge of $565.27 to replace. I made an appointment for 3 p.m. tomorrow for the replacement. I called service adviser back after seeing online a 10% off coupon online. He agreed to honor.

IS this happening to other people?? I have noticed several complaints on various websites. I LOVE my FIT and hopefully this is the end of the problems.

Fit

  • Automatic transmission
  • 63,900 miles

1) At 63900 miles, I got "Check Charge System" message and also noticed the headlights do not maintain steady illumination and A/C blower does not maintain constant speed, especially when letting off the gas when coming to a stop 2) Had charging system checked at O'Reily Auto Parts - Indicated failed diodes in alternator. (Must note that at this point the "Check Charge System" indication did not and has not returned). 3) Changed Alternator. 4) Had checked again at same O'Reily Auto Parts - again iIndicated failed diodes in alternator. 5) Had it re-checked at Pep Boys. Did not indicate an alternator problem - Instead was told battery has a dead cell. 6) Had battery tested at Walmart Auto Center - Confirmed battery had a dead cell. Replaced battery. After replacing the alternator and battery I am still experiencing the fluctuations in headlight brilliance and A/C blower speed but have not received the "check charge system" message again.
