problem #1

At 65 mph along the M5 the TPMS indicated a problem with the tires. Checking the tyres I found the NS Front tyre felt warmer than the OS Front tyre and the NS Front tyre was a couple of psi higher than the OS Front tyre.

I was very surprised that the TPMS should indicate such a small difference in tyre pressures. Two weeks later I encounted a puncture, which included damage to a tyre wall. A local Tyre Garage replaced the tyre with a matching spec tyre, but not the same make. After about every 100 miles the TPMS indicator re-apeared to indicate a tyre problem. Honda Agent advised me to change the new tyre for the same make and type as the original remaining tyres on the car.

I did this and still the TPMS indicates a problem. Back again to Honda Agent who noticed there was just 1 PSI difference across the axle, which he corrected. I am now waiting for the TPMS indictor to raise it's ugly head again.

Could the problem be that the TPMS is too sensitive? How accurate are garage pressure gauges, or our home gauges?

Costs so far: 2 new tyres.
