Purchased a new 2016 Honda Odyssey in 2016. I noticed my seat belt was starting to fray in late Aug 2020. I called 2 local Honda dealers and spoke to service. I asked about the seat belth, I was told no recall, and Honda does not cover the material. It is cosmetic. I fail to see how a fraying belt is cosmetic. The mechanic who replaced the belt system fet that the belt may not hold if there was a front end collision. I asked Honda to reimburse me. They declined stating that the web material of the belt was not covered. It was a safety hazard. The mechanic stated he had never seen anything like this. I feel Honda is ignoring this since this may be an isolated case. It is clearly a hazard, and a defective belt.

There was an recall, recall number 17V-725, but the dealer or manufacturer clearly didn't mention when they will ask us to get the vehicle into the local dealer for repair. We didn't even receive any phone call from local dealer asking us to come in and get the vehicle repaired.

The seatbelt in the middle row driver side has ripped/shredded three times in the three months that I have owned the car I have had a car seat installed in this seat but the rip is high up on the belt and no where near the car seat itself. The first time it happens the vehicle was in motion and I had one of my children strapped in and the belt tore in half while it was being used driving on a city street.
