I have owned numerous vehicles i.e.: trucks/cars. I have never in my life time had to replace a power steering pump on any vehicle. The management team says it is not unusual for these items to go bad. I feel I've been ripped off. This will cost me $700. 00 to fix. Prior to this the water pump went. The dealer was gracious enough to pay for the pump and I pay for the labor. Now this! What gives GM? The service manager treated me like I was stupid or ignorant. (Very arrogant!) He tried to tell me he's had cars that had power steering pumps go at 42k miles. "If we didn't have cars that broke down we would be out of business" is what he says. So were these trucks meant to break down? I'm not really happy with this action and will probably never buy a GM product again!
