Since shortly after purchasing the car we had intermittent instances where if you used the tune or seek buttons on the center console, the setup or phone functions would come up. Reported to dealer multiple times with a we could not replicate response. Finally replicated but out of warranty. Appealed to dealer, who pointed me at Hyundai, who pointed me at the dealer and round and round we go. Just got letter from Hyundai denying the request to cover the repair. Waiting to hear from dealer (3rd car purchased from this group).

Believe the problem is a defect in the switch design. Both Hyundai and dealer think it is a problem with the radio. I believe it is the switch. If anyone else has had this problem please comment. This will be the last car from the group and last Hyundai for me.

I was running errands and had been on the highway for about 5 minutes, exited and went to turn into a shopping center and the traction control icon starting flashing on the dash. The ground was dry and it was a hot day, the AC was running. Next thing I know, I hear a grinding noise and power is being taken away from the wheels and my vehicle is slowing down. Giving more gas, doesn't seem to make it go. Finally the power resumed and my car was back to normal.

I ran more errands and took the highway back home. Shortly after exiting the highway and waiting on 2 red lights, I was on a straight stretch home. As I was going down a hill (coasting), the icon appeared again and this time my car suddenly started drastically slowing down. Lucky for me the car behind was away and didn't re-end me. The car was shaking as I could feel it in the steering wheel, grinding noise was occurring, and I had no control on the speed, just the direction of the car. This lasted for about 15 seconds. The icon remained on until I pulled in the driveway about 3 minutes later. I had to go up a steep hill to get home and as I was going up the hill the car took power away and again slowed the wheels down. I tried giving it gas, but nothing happened. I creeped up the hill.

I arrived home, turned the car off and told my husband. When he restarted the car, it did make a short grinding noise from under the hood. We drove it around and there was no issues. He turned on and off the traction control and still no issues. I took it to the dealer the next day and it never acted up for them when they drove it and all computer tests came back normal and no damage to the brakes.
