problem #1

Oct 052018

Elantra 1.8L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 60,000 miles

Tire sensor light came on and the US Tire (where I get my oil changed) said that 2 sensors needed replacing at about $150@. I declined. I called Hyundai and since the car had 61000 miles on it they also wanted the same price to replace the two. I declined. I took it in for an unrelated recall to Hyundai and when I left the light was not on. Several weeks later it came back on. US Tire now says that 3 tire sensors need replacing!

I have had 3 Hyundai's (2 Tuscons and l Elantra) and this is the only problem I have ever had but it is aggravating and I wish that I could just have the tire pressure light disabled as I don't want to spend $450 (until the 4th goes out!). So unless I trade it in it will lessen the value of the vehicle if I sell it privately.

Any recommendations?
