The ticking in the engine sounds like a valve tap when I start the car. The tap is louder in the am first start of the day. The sound is lower when the car is hot

When the car is started with cold engine there is very noticeable valve tapping. The tapping completely quiets down after about twenty minutes of driving. I have oil changed always at the dealer. During recent state inspection I mentioned this to the service manager but that time the engine was hot and noise could not be heard.
