Elantra ECO 1.4L 4-cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 2,500 miles

Car stalls, stutters, hesitates, and lurches at low speed due to poor shift performance of Shiftronic DCT.

Elantra SEL 2.0L Atkinson Cycle 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 8,000 miles

While accelerating gently, at around 40-50mph, I let off the throttle momentarily and immediately stepped back on the throttle lightly. The transmission seemed to slip gears. The engine revved up aggressively with no accompanying acceleration. This lasted only 2 seconds or so. Very unnerving.

Elantra GL 3.2L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 9,942 miles

The transmission doesn't shift gears when it sounds like it should. between 2nd and 3rd and also between 3rd and 4th.

I usually drive a standard so I do listen to my engine and this is something that is happening more and more frequently with my car.

MY LAST CAR WAS THE 2013 ELANTRA It was a manual 6 speed transmission AND I LOVED IT. I bought the 2018 thinking I would enjoy it just as much but to be completely honest, if I wasn't financed I would trade it in. I bought it brand new and drove it off the lot with 69km on it Sept 1 2018 its now Feb 20 2019 and I have just over 18,000 km on it and I don't love it. I actually don't like it at all. I raved about my 2013. Not so much my 2018
