Elantra Touring

  • miles
Nexen N5000 series tires. I had two with side bubbles and two that the treads are separating from the tires. It looks like retreads. One tire was ready to separate at any moment. I have pictures of all the tires and a document from the auto repair place. Luckily, we could this in time before my daughter would have been killed due to these tires.

Elantra Touring 4-cyl

  • 13,000 miles
Kuhmo solus KH16 P215/45R17-87H sidewall cracking and separation. Started at 13K miles and first complete failure at 15K miles. All 4 are oem tires on a Hyundai Elantra touring and all 4 tires have developed wear and other issues over life of tires. Vehicle not safe to drive due to risk of blowout of tires. Hyundai dealer (from where car was purchased) will not even look at tires and states that I have to find an independent tire dealer that will deal with kumho, even though tires are original to care from their dealership and Hyundai. NHTSA needs to open an investigation into these tires, since other kumho tires have failed in the same way, and numerous complaints are present on these specific tires. Kumho will only direct you to a tire dealer, and no tire dealer wants to inspect the tires that they did not sell (again oem for the car).
