I had oil pouring onto alternator, my garage floor and driveway from my engine gasket. The smell of the burning oil was bad. I did not realize it was a fire hazard until I went to a dealer. I was charged $100 diagnostic fee and an estimate for $1407.39 to fix it at Hyundai of New Port Richey. This is a known problem in other Hyundai and Kia cars that was recalled, but not in Entourage. This is a fire hazard that should be acknowledged by Hyundai corporate and fixed for me free of charge. I should not pay $1 for it since my life was endangered by this corporation. As of October 2019 there were over 3100 fires to Hyundai and Kia vehicles and only select models were recalled so far.

I was driving and with a brief notice of lights flickering, my power went completely out in heavy traffic. thankfully, I was able to turn right into a parking lot (barely). This could have been much worse. Same problem, oil presenting itself on the front tires, alternator dead, and valve cover gasket leaking oil. Husband put in a new alternator. Hyundai roseville ca told us nothing they could do, not under warranty, except give discount on repair (est $1,000).

Update from Dec 27, 2016: This was the 2nd time this happened.

Update from Dec 27, 2016: The alternator died again in August 2016 and we had the valve cover gasket replaced with a quality repair. December 2016, same problem presented (4th time alternator died). Oil sprayed all over the front tires and engine, and alternator dead. We are now facing another costly valve cover gasket repair and alternator replacement.

I have had many issues with the Gasket Valve. It keeps leaking on the alternator and I have had to get it replaced 3 times within a 1 yr and 1/2. Firestone does not understand why this issue keeps happening and did call a dealership with some help and they will not do so.. Something needs to be done about...
