Kona 1.0L

  • Manual transmission
  • 3,728 miles

This symptom does not occur to all Konas. Depends on your luck.

When starting the car, the car will take a bit long to start after cranking. The RPMs will remain low while cranking. In addition, the car will feel very sluggish when accelerating, need to keep the RPMs around 3k to ensure sufficient acceleration.

After sending the car to the dealer for inspection, the mechanics found one of the fuel injectors leaked. The leak caused a loss in pressure for the injector, causing the car to take longer to start and have poor acceleration. The leaking fuel injector was replaced and the symptom disappeared.
