The contact owns a 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe. The contact stated while traveling at a low rate of speed around a U-shaped drive way, the vehicle made a loud noise and abruptly stop. The contact noticed that the front passengers side right wheel had fallen off. The right ball joint had detached and the contact was not able to put the vehicle in park. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the right ball joint, power steering hose and axle needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 151,246. The VIN was not available. Updated 1/23/15 updated 03/03/15

The contact owns a 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe. While driving 5-10 mph the drivers side ball joint snapped. The vehicle crossed three lanes and came to a stop. A police report was filed. She stated that no one was injured. The vehicle was towed to the county impound lot. The tow company driver attempted to straighten out the wheels but fluid was leaking from the front ball joint. The vehicle had not been repaired. The approximate failure and current mileages were 98,000.

The contact owns a 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe. While driving at 15 mph the contact noticed a banging noise coming from the front passenger side of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a local mechanic where the contact was informed that the lower ball joints needed to be replaced. The vehicle was then taken to the dealership where the lower ball joints were repaired under warranty. The vehicle has been taken to the dealership on three prior occasions and the lower ball joints were replaced each time. The failure mileage was 15000 and the current mileage was 118000.
