I took my car to Gettel Hyundai in Sarasota Florida for an oil change and to have two recalls (campaign 132 - Engine seizure and campaign 136 - Stop lamp switch stopper pad) taken care of. They did the oil change and checked the engine but said they didn't find anything wrong and then replaced the brake pedal stopper. When I turned the car in, I told the service rep about a problem I had noticed occasionally over a period of a couple of years that when I was driving my car at night that the headlights would go off occasionally when I turned a corner, remain off for one to two seconds, and then come back on. I always drive with my light switch on "auto" setting. The technician found a multi-function switch in the steering column had an intermittent open circuit and they replaced it. While I hadn't reported a steering concern, the technician found on inspection a steering coupler worn out and they removed and replaced the coupler. This cost another $328.

I had checked for any previous reports of this problem but did not find any but thought I should report this one.
