Well my spring coils broke years ago. Along with other things that I had to pay for so I prioritized what I could get fix according to my income as well as making car notes every month. But today 5/2/19 I got a letter I the mail saying that there is an extended warranty on the spring coils but I am outside my mileage so I will still have to pay out my pocket. Hyundai need to do a recall on all these car and fix their mistakes instead of leaving their problem to become the consumers problem. After all I have been through with this car I will never ever buy or recommend any one to Hyundai they sucks.

I am a 2011 Sonata owner in Wisconsin. Similar to the many others, I noticed a sound of metal hitting the ground while driving at a slow speed in a parking lot last weekend. The passenger side spring coil had fractured and fallen off. This could have been catastrophic had I been on the busy interstate traveling at a high speed which is where I was headed. Very disappointing that only some of the VINs are covered for such an issue. This is not normal wear and tear. It is a potentially catastrophic issue that needs to be addressed by Hyundai. I am going to take my vehicle in for the several other recalls on this vehicle (just purchased last summer), and hopefully the dealer will replace the front coil springs free of cost. If not, it will be the last time I deal with Hyundai.

The factory states this is a corrosion problem. Wrong. There is no evidence of corrosion on my car. At the fracture site it is very obvious this is a manufacturing / material quality issue. Please, before anyone gets killed, recall all cars affected!
