problem #2

Sonata Hybrid Limited

  • Automatic transmission
  • 84,000 miles

Driving home and the HEV hybrid warning came on saying to turn off engine. I got it restarted but HEV warning came on again. Towed to dealership. Today I was told the oil was black and had caused the engine to seize. Stating they found a used engine with 35K miles for $8000 and an additional $700-900 for parts labor. I can't believe this is happening.

Hyundai said the throttle control box must be replaced but full week later they have no idea WHERE they will get one or WHEN they will be available.
