3rd time to get back to the dealership for yet another electrical issue. Diagnosis, the Gas cap was not closed correctly. Why not having a specific error message easy to understand for your customer for such a trivial issue we can actually take care ourselves. They kept the car another 7 days for double/triple check given previous issue. Look at the next issue to find out what happened after.

Sonata Plug-in Hybrid 2.0L I4

Just over one month with the car. right at 2300 miles. The check engine light was on first thing this morning. Last night, I plugged the car in to charge and I noticed that the charge light went on then immediately off. I had to turn the car on and back off again to coerce the car to charge. Called the service department at my dealer and had to leave a voice message. Is this a sign of things to come?!?

Update from Oct 25, 2016: What I found out is that the following day, the check engine light was no longer lit. After having the car for a few months, I discovered that the check engine light comes on when there is a problem with charging the car. The problem is that you plug in the car but it fails to charge. It beeps though. So if you unplug the car and then plug it back in, the charging starts up. The car shows a check engine light after a full charge after this happens. Drive it all day and re charge the following night, then the check engine light no longer comes on. So apparently, the check engine light is there to indicate you had problems with charging recently, but a "good" charge resets things.
