JX35 3.5L

  • CVT transmission
  • 250 miles

For about 50% of the time when there is an adult passenger sitting in the front passenger seat, the passenger airbag is switched off when it should be on. The only way to get the passenger airbag switched on is to stop the car and unlock it - this resets the system. The local Infiniti service manager acknowledges there is a problem but does not know how to fix it. Infiniti engineers in Tenessee are not helping they tell him this is how the system is designed! It would appear Infiniti have designed a car without a functioning passenger airbag. When the passenger airbag doesn't function it does bring into question the integrity of the other safety features they are currently advertizing.

MY JX35 PASSENGER AIRBAG DEACTIVATION LIGHT TURNS ON RANDOMLY. I TOOK MY AUTOMOBILE TO THE DEALER AT LEAST FOUR TIMES AND THEY COULDN'T REPRODUCE IT. I RECORDED SEVERAL VIDEOS OF THIS ISSUE WHERE MY WIFE OR EVEN MYSELF IS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT AND THE DEACTIVATION AIR BAG LIGHT TURNS ON WHILE THE CAR IS IN MOTION. A BIG SAFETY PROBLEM.

I'M EXPERIENCING A PROBLEM WITH THE CITY MPG PERFORMANCE. I OBTAINING AN AVERAGE OF 10MPG DRIVING IN THE CITY ONLY. I TESTED ON THE HIGHWAY AND OBTAINED 20.5 MPG. AVERAGE WILL DEPEND ON THE CITY VS HIGHWAY MILES DRIVEN.
