Cherokee 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 113,000 miles

I am really pissed off that I purchased a 2016 Jeep Cherokee for $15,000 and after bringing car home, my son and I heard like a puttin noise, brought it back to dealer that I purchased it from. They said they heard nothing, service rep recommended I go to the jeep dealer, which I did. But to think that I only put 34,000 miles on this car, I feel is disgraceful. I only drive around town, no far destinations. Had car towed over to repair shop and was told I need a new engine, $10,000. I really feel Jeep or Chrysler should step up and replace the engine.

Cherokee Latitude 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 102,000 miles

Problems started occurring with the Car in June 2021 at about 98,000 miles. I took the car to have it looked at multiple times, only to be told there is nothing wrong with the car...

Well, as of August 1st 2021, the car no longer runs with multiple engine codes related to cylinder misfires and cylinders being hung open. The oil has always been regularly changed and now the car is 2.5 quarts low on oil, lining up with the defect that causes the car to burn off about 1 quart of oil every 1,000 miles.

Then I get a call from the shop where I had to have it towed to, saying that as they began to take things apart to figure out what is going on the engine has been internally ruined due to the low oil from the excessive oil consumption by the motor. So between towing, a new motor and shop costs, this defects is going to cost me big time... thanks to Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge claiming that this oil consumption is "normal". I have always driven something made by Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge but I will surely not be getting another one. This is ridiculous a 5 year old car should not need a new motor!

Cherokee Trailhawk V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 37,500 miles

Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk won't start. Less then 2 years old and Jeep says the battery is bad and I need a new one. Yo would think the battery light would come on and let you that your battery is dead, but no. The check engine light comes on the evening before the car doesn't start and the service people at Jeep cant tell you why the battery would be bad in a car that is less then 2 years old. Everything is auto, so lights don't stay on, car is push start, so I mean it's kind of hard to leave something on. They did say I could have charged my phone too long. I wanted to die. Like really? Are you telling me I can't charge my phone in this 2016 Jeep without it killing the battery? I just don't think its charging a phone ,which I don't do unless I am in the car for hours (not very often).

Cherokee Overland V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 900 miles

I bought a2016 Jeep Cherokee because my 2015 transmission problems couldn’t be solved. I wanted to totally buy a Subaru but I knew I could only get a decent trade in through my dealership because every knew about the problems with the transmissions in the 2015. So I bought a 2016 Jeep Cherokee and with in 2 weeks after purchasing it, it failed to start!!!!!!! They had it in the shop a week and couldn’t find anything wrong with it. Yesterday it happened again, but I have failed to get it started again! Wrecker just picked it up. The dealership said they would find the problem and said they hadn’t heard about any other Jeeps having this problem. REALLY?????? So MAD.

Cherokee Sport

  • Automatic transmission
  • 4,310 miles

I purchased my 2016 Jeep Cherokee Sport in October 2015. Driving to work on 05/02/16 (7 mos) it just shook and shut off. It never turned back on. Only has 4310 miles on it. AAA towed it to the selling dealer (Reedman Toll Auto World). I have called everyday, but they have no idea why it won't turn on or whats wrong. It has a full talk of 93 grade gasoline, all lights work. It sounds like she wants to turn on but it doesn't. I have a loaner vehicle, but I am paying an auto loan for my truck. I know random shut offs have been reported in the 2014-15 models. I am thoroughly disgusted and afraid this is going to be an ongoing issue or can cause a severe accident.
