leather seat splitting

This vehicle has had issues from the start. Dealer issues with the delivery, U-Connect issues, and now the rear seat (leather) behind the driver's seat has mysteriously split in the center of the bottom cushion. Hardly ever used, covered at time with a fitted cover. After I noticed it, called the local dealer here in Pompano Beach. Took the vehicle in, and after one hour of wait time the service manager came out and stated that he would not replace under warranty. Now, the vehicle was delivered on 12/14/2017. It is a 2018 model, and has under 19,000 miles. This is under the basic warranty. He did offer to contact Chrysler to see if they would authorize replacement of the part and offered to get back to me within the hour. That was at 12:30 today. It is now 10:00 pm and no call or contact.

More as it happens.

Update from Jun 25, 2019: As of Tuesday afternoon, 6/25/19 Chrysler declined to cover the repair under warranty. I have escalated this with them and the dealer is to bring the vehicle in and do further analysis including high resolution photos on Tuesday (one week from now) hoping to get this approved. I am not so confident but hope to be surprised. More as it updates.
