problem #1

Jan 012004

Grand Cherokee ES 3.2L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 25,000 miles

Two problems in: 1) inferior materials in drain tube manufacture - replaced $32 including shipping and excluding labor MINE 2) plastic mold air bubble in drain trough. 2cm wide and 6cm long on the actual drain tube portion of plastic collection bowl. This is a complete lack of QA at the manufacturing facility, assembly factory, and overall inspection of the vehicle. This means the sunroof has been leaking since day one! What king of asshole puts a part on a vehicle without at least giving it a once over with their eyes?

Solutions: 1) replaced drain tube 2) caulked the molded hole as best I could. I expect it will begin leaking again in the future but the only solution would be to replace the entire drain bowl. This should be a recall from Jeep/Chrysler since it's definitely a manufacturing defect that shouldn't have ever been installed on the vehicle to begin with.

Does DUMBASS ring a bell????
