problem #2

Jun 102016

Grand Cherokee Laredo 3.7L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 50,000 miles

Leak coming in around both window trims and upper center of vehicle. Soaking everything in Jeep interior causing water damage inside. This might have led to electronic problems I am experiencing now. It seems that the factory would do a better job of water drainage from sunroof. The engineer must have been using drugs or something, when this was designed.

problem #1

Feb 272015

Grand Cherokee Overland 5.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 117,746 miles

I bought this Jeep used in Feb 2015 and took it straight to the nearest Jeep dealership and was told of the problems and this was not the main concern at the time, so I just listened to the fix which was estimated at $2600.00. While having other problems fixed, I found a solution possibility on the web which was a computer reset and I thought it was solved until my grand daughter opened it and it did not close with the new updated so I reset it again,"I THOUGHT".

Needlessly to say it has never reset properly or it simply didn't rain enough in the few months that I assumed the reset had worked. I am not sure as I checked it with my pressure washer after the first reset and that's all I know as the proper amount of rain possibly did not fall until after the second fix. Now the carpet smells all the time even after drying and spraying and the floor on the drivers side has got to be rusting out, so the 26 hundred dollar fix will be quite a bit more.

I seem to have got the smell under control for now and have taped the sunroof but have not seen any rain since the taping I just can't justify the 2600 dollar fix with the mileage and condition and age, but it drives great and all the options work well so I'm going to keep it as long as I can. I thought that I read somewhere that a lawsuit was filled on this problem as the number of complaints may force a recall. I guess that's all my ranting for today. If there is any info that I am not aware of, please let me know.
